im not sure if this fits my business model as im am quite direct and clear of my objective while being polite, persistent yet quiet and patient to the point customer is comfortable, fast and responsive when i see the opportunity. :)

i have won supplier of the year several times with Fortune100 and 500 companies and ...but not sure wat this has to do with redneck neighbors grabbing teacher's necks and shaking them though. :icon17: ;)

You make your own car payments, insurance payments!
Who cares what others say about your ride, as long as at the end of the day you have a big smile when you start her up!
:D

Cool. I'm in the army so at least I will have some skills to take to the business world in a few years.

Tell your neighbor he should avoid New York for the foreseeable future :)

Nissan Wins Contest to Supply Next Fleet of New York Taxis

Nissan Motor Co., Japan’s second- biggest carmaker, was chosen to supply New York’s next fleet of yellow taxi cabs, a deal city officials valued at $1 billion over 10 years.

Yah too bad those taxis are going to be built in mexico. Would've been perfect if built in the US.

Some aspects of this post may offend some members and that is NOT my intention. Please don't miss the main point. A new neighbor moved in a week ago. I saw he had a 67 GTO, totally restored, good, his wife a newer Pontiac sedan, and they also had a Chevy truck. I try not to judge but, having lived in this part of Missouri for 20 years, I have encountered a certain mentality that equates owning "foreign" cars as bad. I introduced myself and told him the previous owners were meticulous in their care of the home. He said, "Of course they were, or we wouldn't have bought it." His tone was a little smart a&$ but I shurgged it off. I told him they put a lot of time in the yard and so forth. He told me of course they did because that is the only kind of home they buy. I tried again. I commented on how nice they and all their new neighbors were. He said I would notice no change with them. I told him I keep to myself, mind my own business, and whatever he did on his property, house, driveway, etc. was none of my business. He stared at me without answering as if he didn't like what I said. I tried one more time. I commented on how nice his 67 GTO was and mentioned I had some old cars I played around with and hoped to get to them one day. He asked which kind? I told him 66 Plymouth Valiant convertible, 68 Barracuda, and a 68 Charger that was maybe more rust than metal. He then grabs me around the neck, I kid you not, and shakes me saying, "Then why are you driving Nissans!" My wife has a Sentra. He asked me again saying I should drive only American cars. So I had had enough. I told him I wasn't buying cars from companies whose unions gave money to elect people hostile to my political interests especially my liberty. He asked what I meant and I told him the 2nd Amendment. He then launches into talking points about no one needing a 35 round "clip." I explained my dad carried an M1 Garand in the Korean War and no one had a 35 round "clip." He then began to pepper me with one question after another asking a new one before I could answer and old one. He then tells me he is from Detroit, is a GM Auto worker, an assembler, and was transferred to Missouri. He told me he was union and a Democrat. He then tells me I am a teacher, (my neighbors told) and how do I feel about that. I told him I am not in the union and wouldn't join one because I don't want labor money going to Democrats or Republicans. He then tells me, "Well, I'm a true blue American. I'm American to the core, I drive American cars, am in the union, and a Democrat." In other words, if you are not like that, you are not an American. He then excused himself and went into his garage. I finished cutting the grass and then backed my red Z out of the garage and washed it, slowly, even though it was clean.

You crazy buy American guys are scary. Might I suggest you look less at global company's original country of origin and focus on well run companies investments in our country.

Nissan North America is based in the US and has made huge investments in our country, hired thousands of American workers, paid US corporate taxes, etc. In many ways Japanese management structure ( truly a US management philosophy that wasn't embraced by traditional US manufactures) has brought more empowerment to manufacturing floor employeees in the US.

Nissan US manufacturing employees even made vehicles for Ford for several years!

A few details on Nissan North America

Nissan: Manufacturing, Smyrna, Tenn.

Even our 370z exterior was designed in California by a Canadian!

Perhaps better crtiteria for poorly informed "Buy American" dorks need to be more concerned about is where their brand of car is actually made as there are plenty of Ford and GM cars with little or no US content. Even cars assembled in US have motors and transmissions from other countries and many parts from China.

My Chevy truck is made in Mexico. Does driving a big Chevy crew cab truck make me more American? ....I think not! I'd be more American if I drove a Nissan Truck made by US workers!

One more thought. Access to free markets to all citizens is what makes US the great country we are. In many ways the buy American crowd reminds me of old school Russian commies. They limited their citizens to Russian cars for years. Look where that got them!

The only time I ever really feel "good" about "buying American" is when the product I actually want happens to be built by Americans in America. It's just a plus.

Example: When I wanted exhaust for my Z I felt like the Fast Intentions TDX sounded the best, and the price and quality were right so I decided to go with them. Just so happens they are built by Tony out in California, and therefore I was supporting an American small business. That's a plus, but never was it my first, second, or third consideration!

Are you sure about that? Nissan North America is a US corporation. US Corporations must pay taxes on all profits recognized in the US. And its clear profits from Nissan sales in the US are being invested in US operations, they built that new headquarters, invested "profits" in expanded US manufacturing. They are also building a new battery plant in the US! The profits don't all go back to Japan just as profits from Ford and GM don't all come back to the US. If anything Ford and GM are investing less in the US and investing more in Former Soviet Union and China!

And let me ask did Nissan borrow yoUr tax money like GM to bail themselves out and then spend that same money on expanded operations in China and Korea?

Your argument fails!
