A friend of mine took this pic on Friday, this person parked so badly at the mall that security put cones around the car :icon17:
Look how far back they parked, they are practically outside of the stall compared to everyone else! http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...photo-1968.jpg |
Really.

Funny how there are dozens of threads on parking "safely"; i.e. near curbs and such, but when someone parks using otherwise dead space, it's a fail. As far as I'm concerned, if you are in a less than half full lot, it's okay to take up two spaces IF you are parked far way from everyone else. On the rare and painful times I might have to park the Z at a store/restaurant, I'll park as far away from everyone else as possible and maybe cheat a space or two. That doesn't mean you might not get keyed, but it's not like some of the real parking fails pictured in this thread. |

That half spot should either be marked with hash lines or labeled for motorcycle use. I also think the owner of a new 750 should stay somewhere nicer than a Hampton Inn. |

The posts in here are so true. I was in a wreck with my 350z a few months ago and finally got it back recently. Last Friday I went to the mall at 330pm to see a movie and parked in the LAST possible spot of the lot. There were no other cars within 50 spaces of me.
I come out from the movie and already see a shopping cart way at the back a few rows over from my car and think "just my luck it will have hit my Z". I get out there and sure enough a HUGE dent and scratches in the driver's door. So, either the wind caught the cart or someone did it deliberately but at that moment I thought "ENOUGH, I'm sick of fixing this car" lol Traded in for a 370z the very next day. So, now I have larger monthly payments but I just had that "bad luck" feeling with the 350z and wanted a new car with no bad memories. Oh, and lastly the only reason I did park all the way at the back was my usual front spot was taken. Similar to the pic a few posts above the front spot has a 2-3 foot wide gap with hash lines beside it so I park over the line. Looking back it seems like fate that I have a 370z in the garage today :) The moral of this is you're safe nowhere. Being in the last spot with no other cars around offered my Z no protection from the cart. You can't win ;) |
This ****ing guy did this while I ran out to lunch (you can see the nose of my Z in front on my normal parking space:
http://www.the370z.com/members/black...bag-parker.jpg Luckily this is in my condo complex's controlled parking lot and I reported his stupid butt. If you are going to buy a stupid Avalanche AND back into the spot make sure you have the intelligence and skill to park it. |

+1. I do this shiz all the time with spots in large lots. If a mini coop can't make it in , I'm parking like an r-tart! I don't want some dumbass that thinks they know how to park squeezing in and door dinging me. Eh, I might get hated on about this comment but 2 years and 0 door dings on the z. :) |
