[QUOTE=shadoquad;1746898]No, you are generalizing majorly here. People have other priorities in life. They put job first, they put family first. Not everyone is a snot over their car. Just because someone hasn't washed their car in six months, that does not imply that they wouldn't care if it got dinged/scratched/dented whatever. It might mean they haven't gotten around to washing it. And I've been tailgated by very expensive, clean cars, because they were driven by inconsiderate azzholes. You're stereotyping.

Look at some of the photos...They are SELFISH...I did not wash my truck for 3 months.. It was dirt brown...I still parked it in one spot...So justify all you want, the guys and gals taking two spots by parking sideways, just don't care...Justify all you want.

Whoa whoa whoa, I'm not justifying the way any of these azzholes park. Ok? I'm just saying, just because someone drives a beat up civic, that does not imply that the person is horrible and will ding you. And I've seen brand new mercedes' parked crooked on people's doors.

The car someone drives means absolutely nothing about the owner's character.

Easy guys. I like this thread too much to see it get locked.

shadoquad 05-31-2012 02:42 PM

gomer, they won't close the thread over a few heated exchanges. If anything, they'll clean the thread of the argumentative posts.

And I hope that Bucket realizes that in spite of our diverging viewpoints, I have the utmost respect for him.

Well there is one exception. Z owners. We are all AWESOME and we are entitled to EVERY SPOT IN THE LOT SO CLEAR OUT.

J/K. Okay maybe not.

But as easy is it is to judge, it's even easier to be wrong about someone. One of my cars got totalled and I had to drive a family member's spare beat up old Buick to work a few times. Strangers who saw me thought that was my car. But it wasn't (thank god).

That being said, how people park and drive is fair game for judging. It goes along with the idea that you can judge someone's character based on how they act when they think no one is looking. No one feels watched when they're parking their car. So if they park like a jerk, most of the time they are a jerk.

I disagree with this as well. I know plenty of people who are super nice people, but can't drive worth a crap.

It's also worth noting, we're a community of car nuts here. We like cars. But there is a huge number of people who see cars only as a means of conveyance and could not care less about them. Doesn't make them bad people.

keb370z 05-31-2012 03:47 PM

People who can't drive worth a crap should take public transportation. I don't want my children dead in a car crash because someone who can't drive worth a crap is behind the wheel.

Amen Brother...And no heated exchange at all..:tiphat::hello::hello:

I won't let it happen..We can have a different point of view, and that is Life..

WE may have a different point of view..That is all.:tup::hello:

No worries..this is a great site.

You are right....I added that in to the parking and tailgating and I was wrong on that point.:hello::tiphat:

I should have kept it to parking and maybe tailgating, and not the type of car. My bad on that point..:tiphat:

In a perfect world, sure.

Sorry, but I have to comment on this too. It depends on the situation.

I couldn't care less about having a perfect lawn. Yet my neighbor is out in his lawn several times a week maintaining perfection. I don't understand it, but I recognize it, and I'd never let my dog pee on his lawn. I never even let my kids walk on it.

People who don't care about cars know there are some people who do, and when they see a spotless Z, they aren't blind. So when they park crooked or really close or ding it, that's just like me letting my dog pee on my neighbor's perfect lawn.

I was actually being logical.

I never judge people based on their looks and much less on their cars but driving and parking are behavioral so it has nothing to do with their possessions.

Just like people can be nice sometimes, they can also be azzholes and it shows when they're driving and parking.

:iagree: it's inconsiderate. However you look at it.

Just saying, crappy parker does not equal horrible criminal person. It's just some inconsiderate jackazz. But that doesn't mean that their whole life is terrible. They could give to charity, etc, etc.

:rofl2: @ that right there. Someone who supports charities and what-not are very unlikely to be inconsiderate behind the wheel or in person.

I'm a betch, so it shows when I drive AND when I park.. reversed... and in the very last spot... away from the commoners :icon17:
