IDK... that's pretty fucking terrible :shakes head:

If you can't resize the image, you can edit the post to use the SPOILER tag and let everyone know about the high resolution.

That parking deserves retaliation along these lines (possibly NSFW):

Whenever someone gets that close to me and I have to squeeze in to open my door I don't go out of my way to not smear my junk on their door handle

I'm surprised to see you driving the Z in that kinda of weather. I couldn't imagine a Z in snow. I know it's possible with winter tires but not worth it. Get yourself a beater haha :)

I agree, my Z will never see snow or salt. It's in storage while I drive my beaters

Add SPOILER before your IMG tag and /SPOILER after your /IMG tag. Piece of cake  *don't forget the [] brackets around the tags*

Or use the Manage Attachment button when you are preparing a post to submit. The attachment will show up as a small thumbnail that people click to view full size.

Good ol Life Time! I see lots of crappy parkers each day at that place. Usually with bikes I see them parked on the sidewalks which they specifically say not to do.

Haboob 01-30-2014 11:52 AM

I'd rather a bike park there than take up an actual spot for a car... and me not noticing until I've already started to pull into it. :shakes head:

With the right tires, driving the Z in the snow is a blast! Salt washes off, the Z is not an exotic car by any stretch of the imagination.

Not worth the risk. I wouldn't want to be washing my car after every drive because of getting salt on the paint and underneath. We've had so much snow here in the Chicago area this winter. There's no way my Z could get around in that. Also its been icy too. It would turn into a mini-plow. I like being able to store my car in the winter and drive my big SUV in the winters. Its much safer that way.

Jsolo 01-30-2014 01:18 PM

I have no problem parking a bike across lines like that, so long as it's not in the path of others. Parking in a handicapped area like that is a no no. Would serve him right to have it ticketed/towed, or knocked over. I bet it's a novice rider too. That bike is at least 20 years old! You don't leave your helmet on the bike like that - not unless you want it stolen.

The typical 1-3 inch snow storms we get in MD make this doable for me. I would imagine your IL winters are a little bit more harsh and it really does make more sense in your case to have a beater car. Everyone's situation is unique.

Unacceptable. The access aisle serving an adjacent accessible parking space is not legal motorcycle parking. I assume this is the north gym on 620? If so, it is in Williamson county, and I can't write them a ticket. However, I just recently joined a program with Travis County called the Disabled Parking Enforcement program. I have been deputized by the Travis County Constable with the authority to issue warnings or tickets for three different violations involving accessible parking spaces, including for "Blocking", which is the violation you see here. A $500 fine, which is mandated by Congress, should certainly get their attention.

**Disclaimer**
( Click to show/hide )
Although there are some people in the program that spend their weekends driving around looking for people to ticket, I have no intention of ever spending my free time driving around like that. The idea of the program is to educate the public about the disabled community's needs with respect to accessible parking, and that is the main reason why I joined. My primary occupation is accessibility code consulting, so I am able to bring a different perspective than many of the people who joined because of family or friends. I also hope to provide the program as a whole, additional knowledge of the code and how it is applied. I will issue tickets or warnings as appropriate when I happen upon them during my daily activities.

Yeah we've been hammered by snow this year. It's been an absolutely crazy winter between the heavy snowfall and the extreme cold. It seems like every week we are getting more and more snow, sometimes just a couple inches and other times like this coming weekend we are going to get 6+ inches. Instead of paying high insurance costs to only get minimal use in the winter here plus the wear from the salt I always just put it in storage. Sucks because I really want to drive but its better then worrying about potential driving issues that are here

That hash-marked area is for wheelchair access and also for van/ramp access.
I'd borrow my friend's van and open the ramp right onto that bike.

Oh I know what it is, but still, I'd rather the bike be there and not in my way.

Some handicapped car can knock it over for all I care.

I hate bikes regardless.

Perfect park job! Smack dab in the middle!

Yes there is snow but you can still fit two cars in there.

My grandfather has a handicap van with a 10 foot ramp that extends out so he can drive while in a wheelchair. If I was in his situation I would extend the ramp out and crash into that bike with my wheelchair at full speed. Not sure if he would do that though lol he is nicer than I am

Don't park in handicap spots without legal plates or a placard or in the access aisle, and you have nothing to worry about

( Click to show/hide )
Unless it were egregious, I think a fellow Z owner would always get a warning for the first offense :icon17: And a repeat offender gets zero tolerance.

This white Crown vic is my winter beater, I pulled up behind that Nissan and this crazy person at work pulled up behind me like that. All that space behind her is available to park in......... I found her boyfriend and asked him what her f'n problem is, he told me to take his number and if I get blocked in to call him and he would move it.

A little off topic, but when I pulled in with my cop car, there was a car parked in that spot that is now occupied with the owners empty shopping cart. I went ahead and put it in the cart corral for them....

I hate that ****.

1) People who have Crown Vics that aren't 5-0. :p
2) Bastards that leave their carts in the middle of the god damn parking lot.

How hard is it to put it in the corral or take it back to the store? Some people...
