Tow hook
 

I own a 2010 40th annivesary editon 370z.

While I was making room in the hatch yesterday I pulled up the carpet and the hatch board to find a Nissan stamped toe hook. Is this standard equipment?

I have one also, so I believe so...

The "Toe" hook has got to be a special option for the 40th; I only have the tow hook on mine not the other hook :tup:

Sorry I meant to say TOW hook. It looks like there are some cut outs on the spare tire case. What goes in those holes?

Don't you mean the tow hook loop? We don't get the actual hook. We get the little loop/eye thingy that a hook (which would presumably be attached to a winch-cable on a tow truck) goes into.

idk what it is but i have some U shaped thingy that sits in the styrofoam stuff around the spare tire. 2010 base model

its a horseshoe, they put them in 2010+ for good luck...

Do all NIssans come with the loop thingy or in lay mans terms a Tow hook loop? Mine has Nissan Stamped across the side.

Yes, they all come with it.

But do they all go with it? That is the question. :confused:

All Zs do, but I don't know about all Nissans. I'd be kinda surprised if the Nissan Quest came with one, for instance. But you never know.

I misread the question. Yes, all Zs come with, but I doubt all Nissans do. I'm sure a lot of them have built in loops.

Technically it's still a tow "hook" since by definition its anything that catches or snares. :D

OP, there's a reciever on the front for it. Check the manual.

What else comes with the 370z in the hatch section? I know a spare and a lug wrench.

in my rear section i carry'z a wallet.

mine must be defective cause since i bought my z about 40 days ago, its been rainy and cold for pretty much 35 of those days. do you think nissan would swap mine out for a new one? :icon17:

There should also be a car jack and a midget in there.

Really, there should be two tow hooks, in case you have to be towed from the front and rear simultaneously.

it's just a slot in the frame driver side rear, i thinks. i suppose put a bekin towhook there for ultimate rice. :D

You know that little square panel right smack in the middle of the rear? Pop it off and there's a receiver behind it to screw in the tow hook loop.

Mine has no mounting point underneath :confused:
