drivers seat adjustment

I have a 2010 370 z nissmo. When I race the car my helmet hits the headliner and I have to slump in the seat to fit. Not comfortable or safe. I am only 5-10 so I am not that tall. Is there a way to lower the seat more than the normal seat adjustment.

take out the rails. this however will force you to have a set seat position

I just increase the incline angle slightly and move the seat a notch forward. My legs get a little crammed but the main thing is to have a comfortable reach to the wheel so that you aren't driving with stretched arms. I'm 6'1.

hummm... sounds like a good excuse to go aftermarket seats and rails?

I do the same thing and fit fine with a helmet, and I'm 6'2"

yessir, however you'll need a special "bracket" fabricated to hold the seat in place. the bracket will give you a lower profile of an inch or two....

Now this would be nice...a custom low profile bracket with channels in it allowing one-time adjustment. When the seat is where you want it, you tighten the bolts down and lock it in that position.

that's basically the idea. A good body shop should have no problem doing this. A bet some of the more handy people here could easily make one as well.
