When I started offloading the weight, the back end started going out on wet roads. I'm having the oem summer tires put back on asap, but I wonder if adding weight to the rear end to approach 50/50 weight distribution might not help the handling. I know it will slow the car down, burt it already goes scary fast for the kind of driving I am doing. BTW, because the clearance is so low, I won't drive on more than 3-4 inches of snow, but I didn't have a single problem all winter
Rather than adding ballast to the back, you might look into moving some weight around. Things like relocating the battery can be pretty helpful.

A different suspension setup can also get a few more pounds sitting towards the rear.

Thanks for the advice. I'm talking about 200-250 lbs. over the rear wheels. Can I get that kind of weight from moving the battery and changing the suspension?
