Raise your hand if you happy you got a 2 seater

It wasn't too long ago I was still driving an old acura integra, and was asked a lot for rides throughout high school and college, especially after parties with that old phrase, "can you give my friend a ride home too?" i got tired of that bullshizzle especially when i have someone sitting directly behind me and i have to move my seat up. given, i'm 6'2" driving in a car that's already, considered by a lot of my friends, too small for me. u can imagine how annoyed i was.

now i'm troublefree n no one asks me for rides anymore. partly because i hang with a different crew now and most of them have their own cars. but also cause they know i have a 2 seater and won't even bother asking for anything, while i'm just laughing in my head. yes i'm a jerk like that.:stirthepot:

both myself and whoever is riding in my passenger seat now can sit as far back as we want without ever thinking about dealing with moving our seats forward and the shelf behind the seats is good enough to seat a girl's large handbag.
only time i regret it so far is when i go somewhere with my parents, i can't take them in the z so i drive the suv.

my friend that i sold the integra to just ran into that problem a few weeks ago after going to a bar driving 2 girls home. 1 of them threw up on the outside and inside of the door and carpet. pained me to hear that happen to the car. stupid fat --beep--

Jordo! 03-23-2011 05:06 AM

I ripped the backseat out of my last car -- buying the Z saved me the effort :D

Jessobear 03-23-2011 05:24 AM

I'm 34. I don't have the problem of hordes of people trying to mooch rides from me.

Highway 03-23-2011 05:31 AM

:raiseshand:

I no longer have to be the driver whenever I go to lunch with people from work. They always wanted me to drive when I had my last car. Now it's just a joke that I should haul a couple of people.

I'm pretty tall myself and don't think the seat goes back far enough for me to be fully comfortable. It kind of feels like my seat is always pulled forward. I don't mind sitting forward when I'm doing spirited driving, but would like to recline on the highway sometimes.

See, the Z saves you gas! :happydance:

Corona370z 03-23-2011 06:37 AM

*raises hand* Definitely happy for my two seater. Works great cuz I'm single and if I have to take two girls home they can sit on each other's lap.

kenchan 03-23-2011 07:03 AM

 raises thumb. No one has sat in the passenger seat yet of my Z. :p

^this, 2 seater FTMFW!

Econ 03-23-2011 07:21 AM

i love not being able to drive a lot of people around...sometimes I wish I had a one seater ;)

Lemers 03-23-2011 07:41 AM

I have 3 kids and manage without backseats. And my past cars have never been cleaner.

DrEvil 03-23-2011 07:50 AM

Not only do I love my two seater, it limits the size of the stuff my wife can shop for.
When I bought it the missus stated " what can you put into it?" My answer was..." you, me and an overnite bag".
And no damn food in the car except for a peeled orange or two!:stirthepot:

Kirkster 03-23-2011 07:51 AM

DEFINITELY happy my fun-car only has 2 seats. My DD is a 4-door, but I don't want to haul people around when I'm out having fun.

Xander117 03-23-2011 08:58 AM

The first day I brought it into work I had a line of people waiting for rides. I havent regretted it yet, though trying to fit a disk break rebuild for a camaro in the hatchback has made me realize not to take the Z to the parts store haha.

I have driven 2 seater's since 1979 when I bought my first Datsun roadster (Fairlady 1600). Even when the kids were little guys, I had one or more Z's -- four at one point, now just two. The 370 took no adjustment in terms of seating capacity.

:driving:

GZ3 03-23-2011 09:56 AM

i <3 2 seaters

TheGreatOne 03-23-2011 10:07 AM

Loving the 2 seater

I'm a selfish driver anyways, I've had cars in the past with really bad rear seats (Honda Prelude eg) so really just care about up front comfort :)

People now just want to check out my car then say "ok, lets take something else" if there is a need for car pooling....or people call shotgun lol

but my dd's a different story. :icon23: oops, i mean

TreeSemdyZee 03-23-2011 11:25 AM

I always try to give someone a ride even in my Z.
Well. Up until the time they yell for the Police anyway.

370zproject 03-23-2011 11:31 AM

yep im not the DD anymore... never was lolz

zmyride 03-23-2011 12:48 PM

I used to have a sedan. My coworkers asked me to go lunch everyday and i would often drive them.

Ever since I bought the Z and sold the sedan, they stopped asking me to go lunch. In fact, they even drove their sedans everyday for lunch with one seat empty in the back.

Now i know why people were nice to me.

Its funny reading this cuz I'm livin in tx now but I'm from Crooklyn. When I began reading where u were going with this story, I knew u had to be from NY. Shifted the screen n to my accurate perception, you are. Most people in new york don't buy cars due to insurance rates, traffic and high risk of theft/damage. But when you buy a car, you become a taxi service. Some people try to take advantage. When I had the monte and grand national it happened all the time. When I switched to the mazda rx7. It stopped. Lol.
I never changed my friends though. I just simply said no when I couldn't or charged them for gas when I could. Lol.
The trick to giving a ride in NY is do it when you have a quarter tank or less and make them fill u up or at least put half a tank. Lol. Eventually they stop asking.

blah, dont worry about it. just walk up to them, ask them to give you a lift for all the lifts you did for them and have a happy lunch.

christian370z 03-23-2011 01:16 PM

Two hands in the air, very happy. I used to have a convertible with 4 seats and I never used the back seat ever. Also, having only two seats means that you have a legitimate excuse to not drive people around when they look for a ride haha.

kenchan 03-23-2011 01:40 PM

also a good way if you have back seats is to have child seats in the back .... they dont ask for a lift either. :ugh2:

JARblue 03-23-2011 02:26 PM

Two cars, no kids, and now, one two-seater is awesome! :driving:

As for those taller people with tiny backseats, you gotta show your friends who's boss in your car. When the seat in my Accord 6spd is adjusted for me, there's about 1-3/4" knee clearance between the back of the driver seat and the front edge of the back seat. I have driven it with four people in the car and no one behind my driver seat: me, passenger in the front seat, one in the backseat behind the passenger seat, and one in the trunk. No one sits behind me in that car.

100% agree. Back In highschool, I had to give many of my friends ride because I had a 4 door sedan. Now, I only give ride to the hottest chick in the party thanks to my Z. And when my friends and I have to car pool, no one bother asking me if I could drive. Its awesome how much gas and mileage I save :driving:

Demon Z 03-23-2011 03:01 PM

It wasn't an accident if that's what you mean. :)

Highway 03-23-2011 04:21 PM

I have never thought...."You know what would make this car better?...A back seat."
