That does stink, it is a huge sinking feeling when you feel the wheel first contact the curb because at that point, you already know what has happened.

Wait till you start getting paint chips.. the 370z paint quality isn't impressive at all in my opinion, for its price. (Specially if you compare with BMW paint quality).

Gotta' buy ClearBra for delivery day. Simply add it as part of the sales price. Then you can relax and enjoy. Nissan should be embarrassed by this inferior paint on a car of this level. My Altima paint is still perfect after 3 years with no special care or attention.

That sucks. Here in NY the roads are also really bad. The winter left some nice pot holes and there are rocks all over the roads. Had a rock scrape my front bumper and a rock mad a nice 2-3 inch gash on my front right rim of which I don't even know how it happened.

Question question:

Do I need to get this repaired? It won't rust or anything.. is it bad to just leave it like this?

I curbed my 40th a bit when I first got it and since I hated looking at the silver color showing through the darker paint on the rim I tried using my car touchup paint and it covered pretty well. You can see it if you look for it but it is way better than seeing the silver every time I walk by.

I get paranoid when parallel parking so I always leave at least 16 inch gap between the tire and the curve. Its a big gap but better than being sorry. I think you can get rid of that scratch tho. Check your local repair shop

just sand it down with some sand paper and then use some 1000 grit then 2000 to polish it down. You can then try to find some silver spray paint to match it or leave it as is. Much better than nasty curb rash.

Search Google for rim repair writeups.
