Oil Extractor

^thanks for the meaningless image. I have an oil extractor for two reasons. One is if I have to drain the oil to work on something like the oil cooler.

I have an oil extractor for two reasons. One is if I have to drain the oil to work on something like the oil cooler. I was having some leaking fitting issues when I first installed my cooler, and reusing the oil was a big cost saving measure. The extractor can be cleaned and the oil reused. The second reason I have it is to remove accidental overfills. This doesn't happen often, but when it does you'll be happy you can easily take some out. I may start doing intermediate oil changes mid-track season with it as well. I still favor the idea of getting any grit in the bottom of the oil pan out by pulling the drain plug though.
