Default Living on the edge

Well i'm not a do-it-yourself kind of guy and my oil needed changing, i was about
500 miles past due and it was driving me crazy. Usually i take it to my dealer
with my own oil "Mobil1" but they were closed today. And like i said earlier it was
driving me crazy so i said what the heck and went to a Super Wal-Mart!!!!!!!

Can't believe i just said that. But anyway the tech guy was so excited he was going to get to change the oil on a 370 he let me watch in the bay area.
No way in hell i was letting them touch it without me being present. Anyway all came out well no oil leaks or burning smell on the drive home. Just thought i would share.................................

Congrats?

If it makes you feel any better, in the future, you can probably let it go closer to 6K without worries, although an oil analysis (e.g., through Blackstone) would be needed to confirm that.

That is EXTREME! I should hope they can perform an oil change...

hope you dont lose your lower plastic cover screws... chances are they are either over torqued or under torqued.

One might argue it's better to wait to change the oil for a few hundred more miles than to ever take it to Walmart...

Kenchan, those screws cost <25c each. It's not like they're made of platinum! You crack me up

Guess you could look at it this way also.. Taking it to the dealer to a tech that works on these cars all day and really doesn't care..

Taking it the Wal mart and the tech is actually excited to be working on it..

I don't really see a prob..

I like option 3:

Take it to my house's garage where the 'tech' cares and has done it a bunch of times.

I take my "normal" cars to my local Walmart all the time for oil changes. Out of at least 25 separate changes, I've never had one problem. I've even done the Z there once.
