If you had to do it over again, would you still buy the 370z??

Im debating if I should get he 370z or not... I really want a sporty car and my lexus is350 is not sporty enough...its quick but more luxury than sports.

If you guys had to do it over again would you get the 370z again?? if not why not?

Sibze 03-04-2011 09:47 AM

yes

6MT 03-04-2011 09:48 AM

I feel a poll in this thread's future...

GZ3 03-04-2011 09:52 AM

i would have considered Red more as a color...but PW is still the best...so yes...i wouldnt change a thing

shadoquad 03-04-2011 09:53 AM

This has been asked before. My answer is a fervent yes. I <3 my Chiana

EL Diablo 03-04-2011 09:57 AM

I basically did it again in a way... I owned a 350z a few years ago and recently went back to the Z with a 370.

Z is a true sports car in every sense of the word.
Pure and simple.

cfweber 03-04-2011 10:08 AM

bang for the buck

When I did my research it boiled down to the Mustang 5.0 or the Z

in this price range.

To get any more handling, or quickness you're looking at $40k+

I'm mulling a used Carrera or vette

I'm not sold on the Corvette look, but there's a new 1 coming soon.

If I can afford to get a better sports car I will

, but the Z is awesome at this price.

wheee! 03-04-2011 10:12 AM

No Brainer.

The 370Z is the best value for dollar car that can be modded (or not) to the nines and still be a daily driver. Worth every penny I paid and the money I pay to the therapist in winter when I can't drive it....

:bowrofl: so true, winter is a harsh mistress :shakes head:

zmyride 03-04-2011 10:15 AM

In the $30K price range, the Z is the best sports car you can buy. Yes i would buy again.

But if i can afford, I would get a Cayman S in a heartbeat.

TypeOne 03-04-2011 10:18 AM

I think I would... can't say for 100% certain though.

However once my other car gets here I think I will love it more though.

;-o

juan05 03-04-2011 10:23 AM

its a great car. once my lease is over next year i will not get it again. im going for an audi r8 next year.

QVu 03-04-2011 10:25 AM

I would get it again for sure. It's such a fun car to drive.

Its not the most practical car, but who cares!

Mt Tam I am 03-04-2011 10:28 AM

The is350 is no match for the 370. The is350 was practically out of control* in front of me as we went down the hill together, I just used my gears to slow down and the brakes only to avoid rear ending him. If you don't pick the 370 at least get something that handles better.

* on the edge at any rate.

deff not practical. my whole family hates it. i have a nismo and is so stiff. but then again thats a nismo. its deff fun to drive mess around show off. but its deff not a daily driver.

igotcabada 03-04-2011 10:39 AM

absolutely yes. the only regret I have is that my z doesnt have the factory navigation, but there really isn't anything I could do about it since its not offered on the 40th.

Zrod 03-04-2011 10:44 AM

I would definitely get it again just never in black. My last car was black so I was ready for swirl marks but the paint on these cars is complete crap. If I did it over I would prob get a 40th or nismo in PW or GM. I got the sport/touring for some sense of practicality as its my DD but once the modding bug sets in none of that matters

roadfever 03-04-2011 10:49 AM

I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Corona370z 03-04-2011 11:04 AM

I definitely would but as much as I love it in black I would probably go with a different color. I use it as a daily drive and not one day goes by that I think I should've gotten something else. Yea, it's a little impractical when it comes to grocery shopping or hauling big items but that's what friends with trucks are for.

:iagree:

I just bought mine like 6 weeks ago, so I just went through this decision. If the Cayman S or an E92 M3 were in my price range (and I could afford the maintenance :p), I would have definitely gotten those instead. A little bit higher and I would be looking at a used GT-R. Basically now, I'm keeping the Z till the GT-R R36 comes out and I can afford it

For the same price range though, I would definitely get the Z again, but I would get one with the sports package.

kenchan 03-04-2011 11:06 AM

yep, my Z is great. this is my first z-car and im real happy i got her. perfect weekend fun for me away from work and family. :)

good looks, excellent performer on the street even in stock form, nice compact size, economical to own. will do it all over again.

jaxxx 03-04-2011 11:13 AM

Im not really trying to compare it to the is350 since both cars are made for a very different purpose..... I just realize that I want a more sporty car instead of a luxury sedan.

Im also considering the s2000:driving:

DrEvil 03-04-2011 11:13 AM

In a New York minute!:stirthepot:

kenchan 03-04-2011 11:27 AM

heck, keep your IS350 as your dd and get a used Z or something?

djpathfinder 03-04-2011 11:27 AM

That's a resounding yes on re-do here.

I DD my Z with no problem. I considered this issue when buying it and I never really need more than 2 seats or a ton of cargo space. If you can do the same, just DD the 370Z. You could also still get a used 370Z and use the money you save for mods

2004YZFR1 03-04-2011 11:32 AM

Hell ya I would, I love my Z!

Really?? why?

6MT 03-04-2011 11:35 AM

I'm on the fence on this one. Can't say if I'd do it over again.

nuTinmuch 03-04-2011 11:36 AM

Yes. I would have ditched the Nav package though. I never use it.

yah but we're not talking about you.

i need 4 seats, got 2 kids and a wife, and stuff to carry at times. can't physically do it with just the Z in my case...and im sure many others with a young family.

Yeah I meant to say that if you don't have such responsibilities and can live with 2 seats and limited cargo space then you can DD the Z with no problem. I probably should have worded it more clearly.

Only with the following conditions:
The availability of the factory oil cooling system standard on the 370Z Middle Eastern model.

Rear fog lamp as a standard feature.

kenchan 03-04-2011 11:57 AM

Also needs to be added to this list:
--Doors that rival a Miata
--Quarter panels more resilient than a WS6
--Handle bars that don't look like they belong on a Frigidaire refrigerator
--VDC parental control locking mechanism

(i kid, i kid. in all honesty, i'm torn 50/50, some days i really miss my S13, and i still really want a GC8 impreza...)

SiXK 03-04-2011 12:05 PM

sure, after all, in the 20 years before the 370z I had a 280Z, a 300ZX, another 300ZX and a 350Z. I'm not sure I know how to buy anything else. :driving:

I was actually thinking that a third-door, like the old Saturn, would be nice to access the Owners Manual cubby.

Gunzero 03-04-2011 12:09 PM

Yes, but I should have bought used in white or silver.
Red and black shows swirls like hell.
