I think that the question, "When is the next update or body style" is legit, but I don't think it's right to insult the car and (by proxy) the owners by calling it ugly and outdated. Clearly that's not a friendly way to start a thread.

I never once said it was ugly. That's what you read into it so you must have those feelings.

I said it is showing it's age and needs a refresh. And I cited common things people have asked to be changed. If I did not point out what I meant by showing it's age that would be an insult to the entire car.

I picked out SPECIFIC items that look odd on an otherwise very clean looking car. I hope some of the common issues raised might be addressed in the next release. And if that is the case, I can wait another 6 months for the car.

It think everyone here likes to overreact. It's 2 plastic bumps in a bumper, some door handles that can be updated, and why not match the gas gauge to the other gauges? REALLY! That to much to ask for in a refresh?

Wrong.

And screw it, I'm not gonna derail this further into a flame war.

You know you posted incendiary comments, and you got the responses you deserved.

It's probably due for a refresh in a year or two but you're acting like it's a really outdated car, which IMO it's not. I didn't even start seeing them on the road until late 2009. With economic times the way they are and the low sales of the Z, I wouldn't expect much in terms of a total redesign for at least another couple years.

IMO the car is great as is considering the price point it's at. It will get redesigned eventually I'm sure, but I think you should just buy the car now if you want it, otherwise there will always be something better coming out in the future... and more so the fact that you said you're leasing... by the time you're out of the lease, a new refresh version would be out for you to lease again...

No thanks, I will go back to Honda when they figure out what consumers want.

Good answer you are welcome to stay. No I did not read all pages.

I dont think we're going to see any updates. I think they will cut the Z out of their line for a little. The R&D, inventory carrying, and production costs are netting nissan minimal profit margin
If anything I bet they add some HP and if that fails, I think we're not going to see the Z for at least a few years.

I agree that the Prelude, NSX, and S2k were all fantastic cars. But the CRZ isn't bad, all things considered. A $23k hybrid with a 6spd manual transmission. It's not horrible. But it's not a performance icon like the S2k or NSX, I agree.

CRZ are heavy slow and uninspiring. Hondas working on a non hybrid version with a more powerful engine I read somewhere.

FuszNissan 02-17-2011 02:35 PM

2003-2008(small refreshes)

So I would guess another 3 years...who knows.

That'd be cool, but most hybrids in that price range are heavy, slow, and uninspiring. This one's 2700 lbs and has a 6spd manual transmission.

Not everyone will like every single detail of the car they have. Nissan is not going to go and change the handles or the lights or whatever because a small group of people don't like them. It would be stupid to not get a car that you like overall just because you think the door handles are outdated.

Whenever you buy a new car you run the risk of missing out if it is significantly updated the next model year. If you keep waiting for the perfect version to come out, then you could be waiting for a while. If it is that big of an issue, then you should be ready to cough up the extra money to always have the latest version. It's a lot like the people who go out and spend hundreds of dollars to get the new iPhone every year. You could do that or wait till the end of your lease when a better one will probably be available.

Holy ****! Damn it...the things I miss when I actually have to work...

370 outdated? I think this car looks awesome and better than the majority of cars on the road today. I have seen less than ten 370s on the road since the car came out no lie.

She should have swallowed you.
