Non-Mod Owners Unite!

As someone who has gone only so far as swapping out his front headlamps and license plate lights, I feel like a minority on this forum. It seems like everyone here's into new steering wheels, body kits, A/V equipment, stickers to cover your (gasp) silver fuel gauge, ridiculously expensive suspensions/tires/wheels, aftermarket seat leather, tow hooks, blah, blah, blah.

Am I the only one here who loves this car for what it is? Join the club! We don't need no stinkin' wheel spacers! We don't need no Greddy lights! My tires will be replaced this weekend and all I'm looking forward to is using every last bit of the tread on my current rubber (yes, I said rubber :hello:).

I do applaud you, but alas cannot be you......

GZ3 02-07-2011 09:47 PM

Dreezy562 02-07-2011 09:47 PM

junior_jam 02-07-2011 09:54 PM

Red__Zed 02-07-2011 10:07 PM

It's no fun to talk about staying stock though...

onzedge 02-07-2011 10:07 PM

The first step is to admit you are powerless,,,,
over the urge to modify.

BTW: There are stickers for the fuel guage?!?!? I must look into that.

kenchan 02-07-2011 10:14 PM

So is this like the loser's thread? ;) jk

Fair enough on all the bells and whistles, but are you saying you also have no interest in picking up the 20 -30 whp and wtq that can be gotten out the motor fairly easily?

CrownR426 02-07-2011 10:46 PM

You'll either go with intake or exhaust.
And most likely your intake will be stillen and exhaust will be fast intentions.
Correct?

Dreezy562 02-07-2011 10:55 PM

3m carbon tape sticker on fuel gauge hmmmmmmmm

Lacoste 02-07-2011 11:24 PM

Im Stock, but boy I cant wait to buy everything I want.
I do have tint which has held me over for spending any more money on my car right now. Still saving for a GTM Supercharger.

Dreezy562 02-07-2011 11:56 PM

Coilovrs hotckis exhaust longtube headers.

SteveZissou 02-08-2011 12:29 AM

Aside from the Nismo Exhaust Upgrade the dealer gave me, I am modless... I pretty much like it the way it is, but am contemplating going for the LSD/19" Wheels+Brakes (Didn't get the sports package =/).

If it can be avoided, I am not a fan of modding.

Brazilbro 02-08-2011 12:36 AM

only thing this car lacks in stock form is 6PSI

Dreezy562 02-08-2011 12:53 AM

Well played, brazilbro

christian370z 02-08-2011 01:10 AM

I cannot and probably will find a car that I wouldn't feel the need to "improve" on in some way. It is just a part of me and I find great enjoyment in personalizing my car to make it my own over the many stock examples on the road.

Besides, I believe in getting rid of all the short comings I can that are prevalent in some of the OEM parts.

SVTNate 02-08-2011 02:53 AM

I've got window tint and Stillen exhaust. I don't see myself doing anything else to the car.

I might redo the stereo at some point, but it's the only part of the car I'm not totally 100% satisfied with.

I got the Sport and Touring packages, so the things I don't like about the base model (18 inch wheels, no wing, econocar looking brake calipers, cloth seats) came properly done from the factory :)

I don't really care if my Z doesn't look unique, as I rarely see 370's on the road and it's just a daily driver. If the Z ceases to be fun for me, I'll buy another car.

You will follow us soon.

or not.

Current mods: Fast intentions 12" CBE and LTH(though those are going off soon), Stillen Gen 3 intake.

Amuse vestito kit is ordered and most likely repaint to pearl white + recolored rims.

SPOHN 02-08-2011 07:10 AM

I appreciate the car for what it is. But I want my own spin on it. Who would want to drive the same car as everyone else. The car itself states something about your personality already. Then modding it tells another part about yourself. Modding has been around since the invention of automobiles. Everyone wants more. No different than buying clothes you don't need.

3SeventyZ 02-08-2011 08:48 AM

Yep. 100% stock here.

Sibze 02-08-2011 08:56 AM

I don't think that by modding people are saying the don't like the car the way it is however they are personalizing it the car. I love my car but I wasn't really happy with the exhaust note so I bought intakes and the FI Exhaust…

painfully stock from the looks of it

toxik 02-08-2011 09:02 AM

Z's have a tradition of being modified. I think most 2 door Sports Cars and mods go hand in hand, where as 4 door luxury sedans are the opposite and become less appealing as they start to get modded.

USMCASA 02-08-2011 09:39 AM

I'm stock except for: K&N drop ins, RainX Latitude blades, and Michelin tires. Other than that the only thing that I spend on my car is gas.
