Well it would seem that we all have love for the Z in common. I'd guess that most of us are "car guys" (or girls), and really appreciate performance, design and innovation of all kinds of cars. That group could be divided mainly into purists and modifiers (those who don't fit into either category and bought the car for some other reason won't modify it or care about the work that went into design and performance). The purists focus on the design and engineering that went into the car and seek to preserve it. The modifiers see the stock model as a starting place for changes and seek to make it their own, squeeze more HP out of it, make it handle better for their use (e.g., tracking the car).

For those of us who are modifiers, we often believe that the manufacturer knows that the car will be changed, and leaves the door open for unlocking performance and HP. I think Nissan left us with fewer performance opportunities, especially with the VVEL being locked down.

So maybe this thead is more about purists vs. modifiers?
