Instead, I would go to court. If traffic school's an option, then do it. And if your officer doesn't show up, there will be no one to refute your testimony, causing the judge to accept whatever you plea as your verdict. In MD and some other states, we have "Deferred judgment" or "Probation before judgment", which means that if you plead guilty, the judge may place you on probation, so that the offense stays off your record unless you are pulled over again within the next X years. |

These things are probably wrong statute number used, the officer does not have documentation that proves he/she is certified in speed measurement, or does not have proper calibration and testing documents.

I went through the same thing in Texas a few years back. Ticket had wrong date and time on it. I got a lawyer and went to court. The first two times the cop didn't show but the judge rescheduled and wouldn't consider throwing it out. The last time the cop showed up but the DA and the judge said what was written on the ticket is pretty much irrelavent as the cop (or somebody) enters the "real" information into a computer later and that information is what they use. Long story, I paid for the lawyer which did nothing to help me and I took a defensive driving course which ironically, cost the exact same as the ticket's original fine. Hmmm....
