That's not a lot to ask! That's like a mandatory minimum around these parts:icon17:

We will be doing several video blogs for both the forums and for Grand Am's website, and we will certainly be posting those here. I'll try to crank that out this week, because there is a lot of cool stuff happening, and so I can show off the beautiful work that is going into the cages before they get painted! As the things hit the track, we will be posting videos from testing and the races, we don't want you guys getting bored of us!

So awesome! Be sure to post a thread to get everyone's attention when they are expected to be in their first Grand-Am race. I think Speed usually televises them.

I'm going to be glued to this thread watching the progress.

We absolutely will! The first race will be at Barber Motorsports Park on April 9th, and will be aired April 16th at 2PM EST/11AM PST on Speed TV!

We will also be posting updates weekly, because the cars are coming together FAST! The first cage is almost finished and that car will be off to paint early next week, the we start the fun part!

Looks excellent! I love the wheels you guys chose as well. Wish I hadnt bought my Wedssports prior to seeing what you found. Have you figured out wheel and tire sizes yet?

Let us know when suspension stuff is ready. I want to get some of the stuff you are developing.

sig11 02-15-2011 02:10 PM

So excited. Another reason to watch Grand-Am Road Racing. :) Definitely gonna try to drag the club to Mid-Ohio for the race this year.

Laughing aside, I wished they did buy Nismo models so I can buy those sweet Nismo wheels. :icon17:

This is sweet, can't wait to see the finished product!
To OP, since you guys will be running on 18"s, I wonder what ride height you guys are going for?...

Cmike2780 02-15-2011 03:04 PM

Any plans to compete in the Rolex GT in the future? I use to own an RX-8 and a fan of the Speedsource RX-8. Everytime I watch the Daytona race, I always wished they had a 370z or any Nissan running.

We think so too! We will be selling the Nissan Motorsport Volks, so when you sell your Wedssports, give us a call! As for sizes, Grand Am figured those out for us ;). We will run 245/35 front and 275/35 rear on 18s.

We'd love to have you! If you come out make sure to find our pit and we'll show the club around.

Minimum ride height for the Continental Sports Car Challenge is 3.5", so our projected ride height is 3.50001" ;).

Competing in Rolex GT. SWEET! But, will you be using the Z or GTR?

I am also a former RX8 owner/SpeedSource fan.

flashburn 02-15-2011 04:35 PM

Nice. I'll definitely go to next years Rolex @ Daytona if the Z's are there representing. I went this year and it was pretty cool. I watched the end from my parents house though.

Red__Zed 02-15-2011 07:31 PM

thanks for the update. Things look to be moving along nicely!

Wow! That photoshop looks awesome! As for the wheels, they are a dark gray gunmetal kinda look. It'll work really well.

Man, we've gotta finish these things because they are going to look rad!

Mike

flashburn 02-16-2011 07:16 PM

Not really feeling the design over the headlights, unless they can be deleted completely, but that probably isn't allowed (especially if you run the Rolex, lol). I'm all for blacking them out (and the tails, if allowed), but I just don't like the big lines coming off of them. I kind of like the color scheme, except for the rims.

Not sure how open they are for our feedback, but I figured I might as well share my opinion anyway.

Endgame 02-16-2011 09:43 PM

Matte/Flat Black wheels, or a very dark gun metal.....

Love it!!! Great ideas if we ever make a "no rules" 370Z. I imagine at some point we will have a project car that we can really showcase our design abilities in a "no rules" environment. I am not sure if that will be a 370Z or a GT-R however. Or how about a GT-R motor IN a 370Z :).

NewYorkJon34 02-17-2011 10:57 PM

Gt-R motor would def be cool, but with the Gt-r manifold swap & a twin turbo kit it's pretty much the same thing. Btw nice Photoshop

Didn't realize you had to run such skinny tires. Are the big mustangs and camaros on same size? If they are you guys should have tire advantage being so much lighter.

You guys let me know when your ready to start doing business. I live couple miles away and my brand new Nismo is begging for some real competition parts. Need to test anything? I run 80 miles a day from Bonny Doon to Milpitas. So I see almost every driving enviroment possible. Will also do big AX events, a couple hillclims and a few track time trails.

I'm a long time Porsche guy who is see what 370z can do so I'm ready to start buying real performance parts that we see in that world. Looks like you guys are shooting for similar quality and engineering.

My goal is to build someting similar in concept to a Gt3. Street going race car.

I stopped by and said hi to Brian. Didnt want to bother you guys because I can see you have tight schedule with race car build but you just let me know when your ready to help me with suspension setup.

We are working towards our initial parts line-up being announced at Redline Time Attack's opening event on March 5-6. I am shooting for 370Z parts to be available by the end of April, GT-R parts to follow soon after.

It's only been a week! Cut us some slack, we've got a bunch of cars to build! We're working on our next update now:tup:.

Good observation. Yes the tanks have to run the same tires, and that should give us an advantage in both corner speed and consistency throughout a stint.
