sometimes you dont want to know complete details of your car...

for the car you're buying used, check carfax and then do a very thorough check before you buy. take a mechanic friend with you as needed.

Do you know of any weak spots to look for? It will be hard to do a good road test. The roads are icy here in MI.
I am more interested in seeing the exact built data for the car. I am not sure Carfax gives that to you or any other car check service. DO you have a preference?

Default Locate build date

You will find the build date on the Info tag located on the rocker panel when you open the driver door. It will give the month and year. Also the vehicles color code.

I have access to "Audatex", which is some sort of Estimating Software body shops use.. I am working on some programming project on the job with some insurance companies we work with. I haven't played with it too much but if someone can confirm this gives you what you're looking for, I can surely pull up the info. I just started working on it Friday so I'm not sure about all the things it does yet.

I was wondering if anyone here had that kind of software, which would tell all of the exact parts the car was built with per the VIN. The kind of radio, seats, wheels, etc. My fiero has a build code on the fender. I do have the window sticker for the 370Z, so I wanted to compare.
