Red lights on inside of door???

Hey...I've had my 370Z for about 3 weeks now and I have not yet seen those little red lights on the (bottom) inside of the door come on. What are they for? Is it some European thing like the rear fog light?

Those are only reflectors.

Are you serious? I thought they were functional.. only reflectors?

Man, they are dying for a mod to become functional puddle lights.. would be nice.. sigh.
