Is it Just Me or What?
 

Do you guys run across this very much. I was getting gas this morning when a 350z roadster pulled in to get some gas also. When the guy got out he didn't even look my way even though the cars weren't 3 feet from each other. Finally i said nice car i've always liked the look of the roadster's.
And he looks at me and says thanks me too. and that was it. not kiss my xxs
or anything else. am i making to much of this? there must be some friendly z drivers somewhere. this forum is proof there out there...........

maybe he's not a morning person -- my ex-boss was like that, not talkative in the morning but by the afternoon, he would be alright :)

I don't have many good experiences with 350 owners

that's to bad. iv'e owned vettes in the past and most of the time they would at least wave or ask you about your ride. stuff like how do you like it,how long you had it and different things. but i have noticed alot of 350 guys seem
to care less about the 370

I owned a couple vettes, and NOT waving was mortal sin (save the wave!).

But yeah, most 350 owners seem to have this "too cool for school" attitude.

I even had similar experiences while I was driving my 350 and came across another 350 driver. But then again a car doesn't make someone an a$$hole, so he probably was one with or without the car.

damn. i honestly did think that bmw, mercs and lexus made people into ********.

but yeah run across a few random 350's and they never look at ya.

The 350s here on base are all driven by old people or women. They don't give the light of day!

Some people just aren't "car" people.

When I had my Z I pulled up to a pump right behind a silver NISMO 350. I said "nice car" to the guy and he said, "whatever" and turned away. Oh well.

I told the GTR guy in front of me that he had a sweet ride and he told me "nah bro I'm gonna trade it in for a 370Z."

+1 I did however get a thumbs up from a 87 300zx.

I've gotten a courtesy "flash" from a white 350Z (looked good, too!) and a wave from a red 350Z while I was exiting a parking lot. Not much else.

I get and thumbs up from every Z generation except the 350s actually

People like you are what makes this crowd look like ********. Not everyone is jealous of a 370z. The guy probably could care less about the scene and bought the roadster because he just liked it. Get over yourself this car isnt hard to buy.

I did notice that most 350z drivers I run into are aged caucasian females tho. I think they'd get scared if I waved to 'em since I'm an asian with a mohawk. :icon17:

First day I had my Z... driving down the highway and I get a red 300ZX behind me... roll down my window, give him a wave... he pulls up beside me, stares me down, downshifts, blows off his turbo and takes off... total jacka$$ in my opinion

Not if he waved to a VW Jetta or Bettle. Theyd probably wave back. :icon17:

You don't know what was going on in his life. He might be in the middle of the bad-end of a divorce and having to sell the Z or face watching his X roll around in it for all you knew. He wasn't rude to you, just seemed "preoccupied", per your post.

i never said he was rude. how would you know he wasn't being rude?

i was there i could tell by his demeaner....

it was all about the cars.....but i'm over it. it's not that big of a deal.

I have never seen a 350Z on the road here.

There was 2 350s and one white 370Z at francorchamps but they didn't talk to me >_>

I did have some nice talks to the GT-R owners there.

I lolled when 2 of them came next to me during one of the long straights and honked.

I floored it

then I got raped hard.

I've had great conversations with all Z owners 240 280 300, etc.,..... not 350 owners though.

So far, every one I've run by won't even acknowledge me.

One exception.... at a red light, his passenger gave me a thumbs up!

Obviously the 350 owner was not a true car guy. True car guys like talking to other car guys. Even if their car is not your preference, you say "nice (fill in the blank)" or "how do you like your (fill in the blank)" and they say "thanks" or "I like it" at the very LEAST.

I interacted with only one 350 owner - pulled up next to me at a light. We both did the "nice car" with thumbs up at the same time.

then why buy a Z?

Because they like it? If that's your argument then why buy ANY vehicle? Why not walk or take public transportation :ugh2:

On my first post i wasn't trying to stir anything up. It was an observation from
me that at least in my experince in my area fellow z owners to be honest can
be arrogant.......... but i'm a big boy i can deal with it...........

but you would think when two z owners cross paths they would have something to comment on..........

i guess thats why i find this forum enjoyable everyones pretty cool about everything....... coming over from the 350 forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bottom line is everyone is not an "enthusiast" per say as some of us are on here, they just could care less. They liked the way the car looks etc and thats about it, they dont care about the waves, light flickering, history of the Z etc.....

I've run across a couple 350's and out of all of them two different women were the only ones to wave and smile! I look really young for being 26, (I could pass for 17 easily) so I'm sure alot of them think I'm some spoiled brat?! Before I had mine I talked with a couple 300zx owners, they were totally cool old dudes.

im a 19 year old Asian male that drives a pw z and when i pull up beside 350z's they look at me and pretend like they didnt see anything lol....

most waves i get are from the 300zx and some g35's. i saw 2 370z but they didnt bother to look over T_T
