Default Newbie First Project

So I purchased my 2011 370Z Touring (no nav) in Brilliant Silver on Monday and today was my first project.

I successfully installed the flashing brake light on the third brake light and it only took me 30 minutes. I have to say pulling the panel off to access it was a delicate matter. Other than that, Easy!!

On to the next project, which I think is going to be the rear fog light. I had been looking for days trying to figure out how to get that fog light on and then came here to find its just a lens. Bummer. Oh well, another project.

Don't give up chuck! Stick an LED in there and wire that sucker up to the reverse or parking lights

Both of these should help, once you get the fog light....I used the second one when I installed the original JDM one. But I want the new LED one now from EVO-R. What did you mean by it's just a lense? And what side of Houston are you on....congrats on the new car.

From what I have read, in previous models, there was just a plug there. My 2011 has an actual red lens, just no light in it.

I am in League City near Galveston Bay.

Oh wow so the 2011 model went even further in their pursuit of trickery to fool you into thinking you had the real fog light, by making it red. Haha Yea my 09 only had a black box w/ a plug behind it from the factory. Only the Euro/JDM models have the actual light. You have to order it online here in the U.S., with either the real one, or the LED one from EVO-r that you were looking at, and replace it per the DIY instructions I sent you. I would say come out to some of the meets in Houston sometime, but Galveston is kind of far. Oh wells

How are you going to wire it? I don't think I want mine to blink when breaking, some idiot might stare at it and rear end me, maybe just on reverse for the effect. I need to pull my other one off first.

Well, I suppose I better choose wisely, considering the comments I got about my flashing middle brake light. I was thinking about having it blink in reverse and also be another parking/brake light. Will have to search the posts for the wiring on that. I am sure I will have to send Professor Dave a note at some point when I decide.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Haters are gonna hate...it's your car do what you want. I have my current one wired through the middle console to the switch sold by the z store. It's tapped into the parking lights, so whenever I hit the switch it stays on, and goes off when the car turns off. I suppose I'm going to do the same w/ this one, and just use the other blinking wire for reverse.
