I'd say keep the 7AT and try to get your fix using the sport shift/paddels. Being that you are a student I don't think you have tons of cash rolling in, so I think in the end trading in for a Nismo wouldn't be a financially wise descision. Pardon my spelling, I've been up all night.

He might have tons of cash being an International student, you never know.

However he is going to lose money in a trade-in, unless is a private even trade.

op- Tough to get a loan without credit... Maybe western union might be able to help?

Btw, shouldn't you be studying instead of motoring?

I've driven a stick since I was 18 (trust me a really long time ago lol) but I went with the 7AT because I love the option to drive with the paddles, (or stick) or just put it in D and cruise. Yes I admit I am a bit lazy. At times I would love to have the 6mt but other times I am really glad I got the Auto. Maybe I should just buy a second Z in 6MT LOL!! That would be sweet but a hard sell to the Mrs.

Hey maybe the next gen Z will have an auto with a clutch in manual mode. I think that's been done before hasn't it?

Never heard of that.

I feel like the MT with Syncrho rev match is more advance technology that the Auto tranny in this car. This is car just uses a torque converter, its not really considered advanced tech anymore. a lot more economy class cars now have a automatic as standard or a very cheap option. Double clutch=advanced. Torque Converter = been around a while.

btw IS this the same 7AT as the G37?

yeah it's same transmission as the G, although I don't know anything about slow response time. I'm a 7AT owner, and I honestly don't care if I'm driving MT or AT... the amount of people that scream at me about that is ridiculous. People have to go on a personal mission to prove to me that MT is better. I have just as much fun driving with the paddle shifters as I would with a stick.... and maybe even more because the shifters are more convenient to change gears.

I love when people tell me that I simply do not know how to drive stick good, that's why I drive AT. Always want to reply with "ye a 7AT 370z, meanwhile you're driving an Accord." But I can't say that cause that would make me sound like a spoiled douche.

Hey you can feel any way you like. This auto is very fast, it's documented faster than the 6mt. Sorry if that pisses you off. Get over it.

In manual mode there is no significant delay in switching gears (in terms of human shifting, it is faster than that.)

All international students have some sort of cash, but they all are not rich.
