Sitting in the 5.0 is like sitting in a cardboard box. Its fun to be in one, buy nothing really fun to do. I test drove it to see what the hype was about. 10 minutes later I saw at least 5 other mustangs and I was like, "No".

That's funny because cardboard boxes are fun.

Yeah, and when you got tired of them you would just go roll down a hill inside of one.

ThoriumHotdog 12-02-2010 03:56 PM

Refrigerator boxes are king. Much nicer on the inside and the quality is fantastic!

LuckyJinx 12-02-2010 04:01 PM

I saw five other boxes and I can't have that.

Living in South Carolina I can definitely see your point. I would probably get tired of it too.

But thankfully I live in Northern Virginia where I see more Lamborghinis than I do 5.0s. I think I've seen one in the past week (I don't count the v6s, mind you, they are not real cars) while I count 10+ 370Zs on a daily basis. It all depends on where you live, I suppose. Around here GT level (and up) Mustangs are pretty rare.

One of the days when I stayed at my gf's apartment I saw 4 Lambos on my way to work. My office is only 5 miles from her apt. :bowrofl:

Makes sense, though. I live and work in the second richest county in the US. The richest county is the one right next door. :icon17:

I can't wait 'til you screw up a launch and get pwned by a 2011 V6. :bowrofl: They already have them in the 12s with bolt ons.

That's the best, isn't it?

I never understood why it's always the slowest cars that always have the most aggressive drivers. Scions... there is a big Scion problem around here.

A 5.0 did that to me, he stopped after that.

Usually cars will come up on my really quickly, pull along side, see the badge, then back off.

I'm like... c'mon... it's not that fast. :icon17:

GTM Stage 2. Couldn't drive everyday like I wanted to so went from 750 to 515 or so. Have to turn off vdc every time I drove it was a real chore. You should see the guys in the stangs though lol. Frown and slow down.

Haha nice! Yeah I could see you shutting down a lot of folks that think they have an easy kill. Z06s and GTRs even.

I'll probably go with the 525 whp blower in the future and that should be fun. I can't imagine 750 in that Nismo though. That would have been hilariously quick. :bowrofl:

No kidding. 525 should do better than the gtr because its so light. Dad thinks im crazy for having that. Cars don't even expect it. No decals or anything.

That is one reason I enjoy having my stock wheels right now.
They see the exhaust (F.I.) and think, who he mods he may want to run. And then they find out what I really modded.

I count at least 20 Mustangs everyday, plus the Camaros and Challenger. Barely one 370Z a week and a few old 350Zs.

They may have beat a 350z with a terrible driver and think they've got the most awesome tuner car around. Sometimes they just want to see how they compare.

^^^On the nose Jose. I like the mustangs and think the new 5.0s are really nice but this is the main reason I wouldn't buy one.

m4a1mustang 12-02-2010 10:35 PM

That area where you guys live is definitely a Mustang hotbed. I guess it's always been different for me up here because they are much less common. If I wanted to fit in I'd buy a Porsche 911. By far NOVA's most popular car. :)

Matthew 12-02-2010 10:46 PM

My mom drives a new 5.0 it has alot of cool options. But I like the looks and feel of my Z way better. :worship:

BeachZTT 12-02-2010 10:55 PM

Yeah, we don't have the income base in this area to support as many high end rides as you do in NoVa. :tiphat:

I saw a blue 5.0 in the grocery store parking lot last weekend with suspension work and wheels. It was hot! That is the first one I had seen up close. Definately a lot of bang for your buck.

I can tell you that eventually the roadster will go FI. Probably a GTM TT kit. No rush though. My "antique" is my fast car.

Cyberium 12-02-2010 11:14 PM

I don't care if the Mustang 5.0 had a fighter jet's engine under the hood... I'd never buy one. Mustang's just don't do anything for me. The problem with the mustang is that it attracts such a broad spectrum of people...everyone from Soccer moms to chew spitting red necks.

I rented a Mustang when I was in Hawaii and it was the most boring car I'd ever driven... it was the V8 and it was a bore fest.

I'll stick with the Z
