yup it claws through the pavement. Whereas the Z gets a little tail happy if the entry balance isn't right. The GTR eats up corners like nothing, with no drama, just straight annihilation.

Nitrouz,
Good luck with your new 370z once you get it. As Juno stated earlier, we made the switch a little while back and the Z is def more fun at legal speeds. I do miss the space in the interior of the GTR though, the Z is a bit cramped for me but she fits in it just fine. Then again, I'm a tad bigger than average. So it may be of no consequence to you.

We've got the Nismo and we are super happy with it. Just upgraded the h/u and the nav in the kenwood unit is pretty much OEM quality and fit and finish on the unit is very very good. Since your plans involve so much mods, the Nismo probably doesn't make much sence for you, but if you were to just lightly mod the car, I'd say the Nismo is the perfect platform.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the Z immensely.

Hey thanks mate. I don't think I'll mod this 370z as much as my old 350, but I do want to do the basics (exhaust, suspension, kit, wheels, turbos). I guess that's all the Nismo inclusions, but I want aftermarket. So I guess a non-nismo would be best suited for me.

Anyways good luck! Hope you and Juno enjoy the car!

Your "basics" is more than 90% of us will ever do.

There have been a few times on the track when I've gone into a corner way too fast, expecting to end up in the grass (or a tire wall), but the GT-R just stuck. I'm going to be slow the first few times I go in the Z while I'm learning to trust myself in RWD again. And as much as I love the 6MT around town, I'm going to miss the DCT on the track. Until we bring the next one home, anyway...LOL

it took me a while to get used to the GTR on the track. At first I was tracking it based on my experience. It kept understeering no matter how I adjust my suspension. It really started to piss me off and I went faster, and faster, until a point where your mind logically thinks you're going TOO fast. That's when the GTR comes alive. You don't squeeze the throttle after the apex. You PUNCH IT. That's how it adjusts its balance. And it pulls it straight out of the corner faster than any other car out there.

that was my impressions based on driving it hard on the road, i'd love to take a few 7/10th's laps in one on track sometime tho

I was going to refrain from saying anything but....

You can definitely tell the guys who have owned or driven the cars they are talking about from those who haven't. I'm one who loves both GTR and 350z/370z for different reasons. My GT-R isn't really a daily driver because I spend most of my time travelling on trains and planes, but when I do drive it on the street I enjoy it and as an added bonus my daughter fits in the back seat!. Then when I drive it on the track I admit I enjoy it even more, but then that would probably be true of any car (especially a fast one). I grew up in the UK where most all cars are stick, so I know all about driving a manual(stick) and owned a TT Supra in the UK so know all about rear wheel drive. The GT-R gearbox is not your typical auto box and is really just the future. Finally for anyone who thinks the GT-R drives itself take a look at the following, sure the GT-R has great handling and is more forgiving than some cars but still fun in the hands of people who can drive

So, basically, for someone who is a bit nervous about getting all 4-tires spinning on their $90K investment, it looks boring as hell. I am not a pro driver, and I would not feel comfortable in some of the situations that driver puts the car in. I would get A LOT! more joy doing more than just turning the wheel, by driving something like a GT500 or a 'vette around VIR/the street. I'm not about having the quickest lap-time.

I am about having fun with my investment, because monetarily--cars are a fools purchase. It's all about fun, and if you're not having it, you wasted your money. It will never be worth what you payed ever again, the difference is made up in smiles. I couldn't get as many out of that car as I could another. It appears OP is in agreement as well.

I want a 500bhp car that is quick from a roll, can roast the tires if I want turning off ALL nannies (without voiding a warranty), and has 3 pedals.

All-out, the GT-R bested the Z06 by less than 3 seconds at VIR. There is no way that I could drive either car to that potential. I'd rather feel faster in the Z06 than be a tick faster in the GT-R. It's about fun for me. Maybe some of you make money off of your skills at the track, or have sponsors that must be kept happy. I don't.
