I have had numerous people who have given me the thumbs up.
I had one guy follow me down the road and into the gas station to tell me that my car is "one bad *** car" and that "it must be fast as $hit". I just smiled and said, "Yup" Another guy was basically circling me at 70mph geting the full view. I was on the phone, otherwise I would have dusted him. I have had numerous people take off from the stop lights wanting to race. I have never had a car that has drawn so much attention. The only way I can describe it is that I now know what it's like to have very large breasts with everyone staring at them. I told my wife that if she wants to know what it feels like she should take the car for a spin. (I did actually say that and I have been married for 15 years..set the expectations very low boys and then you might have a chance of exceeding them.) The only annoying thing that's happened several times is that if I decide to use my turn signal, people will close the gap and not let me in. Especially the BMW driven by guys who think they're cool and by SUV's driven by petite young women. -ZCarGo- |

I got my 370Z when it just came out January 2009. I was speeding 85mph on 880 highway in Fremont, CA. A highway patrol pulled right next to me from nowhere. I thought I was going to get a ticket but he gave a thump up & a smile instead. Unlike these days, damn cops give us tickets on every little things just to make up their lost revenues instead of fighting crimes.

That must explain my experiences. Since trading my Pathfinder, I find a significantly larger number of people on my rear bumper, (trying to get a closer look?) or pulling out in front of me (trying to get a closer look?) and this never happened when I was in my larger vehicles. Driving side by side a red 350Z in my red 370 was a cool experience.

I've been having a rather unique experience that I quite frankly would rather do without. Drivers in oncoming traffic going the opposite direction gawk at my car and start to veer across the line into my lane, nearly causing a head-on collision! They don't realize that they're doing it, they just momentarily get too absorbed with staring at my car and start drifting. Just yesterday this happened twice within 1 minute. It's a little terrifying, to be honest.

I haven't had soemthing like that happen, thank god. Here in Louisville, traffic accidents are pretty numerous, and it's come to the point where I will notice a drive to or from work WITHOUT one, which is sad.
I had a recent unique experience with someone driving a 350Z. He was acting really excited to be in his car, like a kid driving his parents' sports car for the first time, and asked me where I got my mods for my 350 lol. I simply answered with "Nissan" to which he remarked that he didn't know they did car mods. I don't know if I should chalk that up to young innocence, or foolish ignorance. I just chuckled and went along my way. |

I was walking out of a Trader Joe’s, and saw a minivan drive by my car very slowly a few times. As I walked up to my car, the minivan was slowly driving away. I guess he saw me coming up to it and came back again. This guy in his early to mid 50s lowers his window, and asks me if that’s the new Z. After I confirm that it is, he gets out, runs through the list of all the Zs he has owned and tells me about his involvement in cars with a ton of enthusiasm. I welcomed him to take a look at it and then he ran through all of the reasons that he thought it was way better than any of the competition. It's always nice to hear positive things about your car from the people that truly know their cars.

After picking up some detailing supplies at an auto parts store, I was in the parking lot when a guy tells his little girl as they walk by (she was about 5-6) "Oh wow, now look at that...isn't that the car for you" So I walked past them and was about to get it and hes like "the lines on that car are absolutely beautiful" then he proceeded to do the walk around.

Some little kid came up to me when I was outside washing the Nismo and tugged on my sleeve and said... "where did you get the batmobile"... lol
was pretty awesome.. My wife later told me, it was the second time the kid had looked at my car... he wouldn't touch it, but would do a walk around, and stand on his tip toes to look inside.. she said it was probably what I was like as a young kid Last edited by Isamu; 03-04-2011 at 06:28 AM. |
