Default Breaking In a new 370z

I recently purchased a pearl white 370z 7AT and I was told to keep the engine RPM below 4000 until I "break it in". How many miles would I need to drive before i can push my RPM to redline? Why would it be unsafe to do that now? Im new at all this any information would help thanks.

Plenty of threads on this topic. If a keyword is too small (and sometimes not easy to search, we may allow such discussion). But I just searched "break in" and got all these results.

The infamous "break-in" period.
