What?... MY 240 had an inline 6. 0 - 60 in about 8 sec, which was pretty good for those times, excluding the V8 muscle cars..

There were 3 engines depending on where you were (all I6). The US spec (and Australia too) was a 2.4L inline 6 producing 150hp. Some JDM cars came with the 2.0L S20 (DOHC inline 6) from the Nissan Skyline which produced around 160hp. Acceleration was respectable for the time due to the car being pretty light.

Was it a 6? I don't remember. I do remember lousy 0-60...of course I had owned a 69 GTO (0-60 in 3.something)

More like 5.x but that was still pretty damn fast.
