2500 miles, no unusual movement from my Touring seat.

I figured out why my seat clicks. I was pulling the seat up and down and put my hand under the chair to figure out what was moving.

The brackets and the sliding mechanism were fine. I finally felt something moving. It was a a bar underneath the seat, which was part of the mechanism to raise and lower the front part of the seat. Can you guys check if it is the same problem. Anyway, when I put the front of the seat all the way down, it doesnt seem to move as much.

I wonder if there is anyone that can make something so that bar cant move when because I like it when the front of the seat is raised a little bit more.

Edit: I thought of something. Maybe I can attach a spring from the bar to the back of the bottom of the seat somewhere to keep it from moving around. I'll see if I can get to fix it. I don't have time until next weekend to really try and figure it out.

My Touring w/ 2500 miles does this. It's not even under aggressive driving.

Mine moves slightly from time to time, I hear/read that the 09 Maxima has the drivers seat movement issue with some as well.

Nissan USA has released a TSB on this issue

Thanks

Touring/Sport no issues here, but thanks for posting up the TSB.

Suggestion: Start a thread for ALL TSB's in one spot or set up a Wikipedia for specs, DYI's, mod parts, TSB's. A good example is the one 350Ztech forum has setup....it’s a wealth of information. There are several peeps that are over here from 350ZTech that are driving a Z33, that could help with setting it up and contributing i.e. Dad and SmoothZ.. Just goes to show that a good forum community will attract all Z enthusiasts.

my seat squeaks a little bit from the right side somewhere close to the shift lever. it's most obvious if i move my right leg left and right. i have the power seats. would this tsb still apply? could those star washers also be the cause of my problem or do the power seats have different washers? also, still waiting for that tsb on the damn fuel gauge inaccuracy

I have the 'Famous Nissan Seat Click Problem" on my Altima coupe, as well. It is not uncommon and was previously discussed on another thread a month or two ago. My Altima is 23 months old with 14000 miles and the click has not gotten any worse---just a click when turning hard and or fast in either direction. Someone reported he was contacting Nissan regarding it. It has not yet developed on my '09 base Z---but due to snow it only has been driven a few times and has only a few hundred miles on it. We'll see what happens, as I gather the click can evolve into a serious problem for some.

That's it. It's just a shame so much "surgery" is going to be needed. Hate to see my car torn apart but they Should know what they're doing. Just hope it's all factory tight after they put it all back together and new problems or rattles aren't created. Exasperating when you buy a new car anymore...

So I saw the TSB, are we supposed to take it to the dealer for getting this fixed by showing him the TSB for the seat clicks? Is it free to repair etc.? Or do we have to go to any repair shop and pay ourselves?

You go to the dealership, they verify the problem and fix it.
It might take two visits, first to explain the problem and show them and then the next is to fix it.
