Hi all, I sent the following email to Nissan Consumer Affairs and the NHTSA Complaints Dept. on our behalf (hopefully we'll receive a response!):

Hello, a number of Nissan 370Z owners are reporting issues with unreasonably high oil temps and overheating, both in normal driving conditions and on the track. Please offer a solution to ALL owners to FULLY rectify the situation. The 370Z is a sports car that is built to handle and outperform the competition at half the cost. The Z is an icon. If a recall is necessary, please issue a recall.

Also, a number of Nissan 370Z owners have issues with their seats moving under braking, acceleration, and cornering. The seats should NOT be moving at all while driving. Please investigate this issue immediately and FULLY rectify the situation. This is a VERY LARGE safety matter. If a recall is necessary, please issue a recall.

Thank you for your time.

Just got my 370Z AT base model for approximately 3 weeks now. Experiencing the same problem with driver seating moving and randomly hearing clicking sound. It is noticeable and even passenger can hear it.

Took it to Nissan dealer to check it out, they said they cannot problem and suggest to road test with the shopforman. Also realized that there is buzzing noise from the back of the car while driving home from the shop. Seems like something went loose like windows shaking or bolt shaking sound.

I got it schedule again to go back for road test. Hope they will do something about it cause it is quite irritating.

Dropped off at the dealer today to get the rear cargo cover installed and had them report that the seat still moves. Generating a history of concern!

As another avenue, check your state's Lemon Laws.

My first experience with California's laws was excellent. I returned my 2008 Ford Mustang GT two weeks ago for a full refund (all payments, doc fees, acquisition fees, etc).

Yes I know, FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily, so reliability is one reason I'm buying a Z (hopefully, it has better reliability).

BTW Ford, with their money issues, paid up with minimal fuss.

The seat problem has been identified with the shopforman. They found that the seat rack is not secure and have to order the rack. However, the rack is on national back order, so don't know how long it will take to get the part before I drive my car back to the dealer again to fix it.

Dealer contacted me and got me the seat track for installation. Drove it back on the highway and local, have not recognize the problem again.

Will report if it continue. However, there is buzzing sound from the back of the car when drive on uneven pave road.

So they replaced the track and not the seat fame? Do you have the invoice w/ part #. Even better, post your invoice? ;)

I have the base w/ sport and have this issue... I noticed it pretty early on and it seems to happen more frequently now. I have it schedule with the dealer next week to take a look at.

My dealer tech said that the movement was normal.

Doesn't bother me too much at the moment but I'm sure it will get worse.

They replaced the seat rack instead of the seat frame. I guess they have secured the seat frame also cause from time to time, you can still feel the slick movement underneath the seat. However, it is much better than the initial problem.

However, I am still getting that buzzing noise from the rear fixed. Attempted to the deal twice already, and fixed it once. However, customer service not returning my call. Will need to make another appointment to go in and have another look.

Thanks!

I get a lite high creak from the trim around the rear glass on the passenger side...very sporatic! I just haven't had time to address it! So far no other sounds. I'm starting to get used to the seat movement but think I'll end up taking it to a trim shop (interior restoration shop) and have them figure out what's moving and fix it!
