2007 Cayman S 2010 370z Rolex Vs Seiko Vs Omega

I think I have the Cayman out of my system. I was seduced at the Porsche dealership. But a used car for over 40000.00? What am I paying for? The name, the German health care system the pension of a German or worker from Finland. Cayman made in Finland.
I left and looked at the base 370z. I plan to purchase it on Thursday.

A Rolex cost about 6 grand my Omega less than half a nice Seiko a grand. They all tell time.

I think the 370 will make me as happy as my 280 or the Porsche.

the 370z is a fine car, but the cayman has that little something magical about it. a car that could be your last sports car you ever buy. i dont see that with the 370z. i do still enjoy my 370z alot!

oh yeah, i got my 370z for $25k w 6k miles on it. vs. 40k for a cayman weighed heavily on my choice.

You sound like a walmart bargain hunter that drives a KIA.

Did you drive the Cayman?

I was looking at a Cayman S PDK but they are still somewhat expensive, and of course maintenance is expensive, but a mid-engine car is magic.

I couldn't justify the difference right now either ($60k versus $32k) when a one owner 370Z with everything I wanted showed up at the local dealer.

I do think it makes more sense to consider a Touring+Sport+Nav or Roadster when comparing to the Cayman.

You guys sound so snobby.. Why didn't you all get a Cayman then?

His logic makes sense to me... The car part, not the watch part.

I want a basic sports car. My 280z was perfect. My 1962 E-Type was amazing. If I want a touring package, I would by the G-37. My Jag was 4 speed no a/c. The car had brakes all necessary gauges and a aluminum dash. Spartan.

C'mon give the guy a break. I think we all know what he means. Yeah sure the Porsche maybe a little better in areas but at what cost? The Porsche sure does not win the "value for money" contest and what is wrong with trying to get good value? You do pay through the nose for a "label" car and in my opinion that sucks and it really comes down to paying extra for an image. I could understand the Porsche being priced a little more than the 370Z, but hey c'mon.

sheps58 10-19-2010 08:01 PM

Hey that hurts. I drive a BMW 2004 325. Heated seats, sun roof. I want a 2nd car fun to drive. I like the porsche drove a 911, sat in the Cayman. A base Cayman is $45000.00 plus tax. I loved my 280 the base 370 should suit my purpose.

kenchan 10-19-2010 08:29 PM

Wtf is wrong with you soft skinned non Z folk? It was a joke. Get the car u want. My music gear costs more than ur bimmer even if new.

Ignore the stupid comments from people who can't afford a Cayman S.
