the Z is great fun. and i'm very happy with it, but my next car(5years from now) will be open top, 300+hp (factory), and under 3000lbs. i miss the connectivity i had with my s2000.

You do the sums, the 370 has, what, at least 95% of the performance of the cayman, yet it is priced, what, at approx 60% of its price. Granted the 370 may have some NHV issues, but when I drove one I thought it was smooth as.

heres a lil secret. all car prices are over-inflated. if u had true knowledge of actual build cost of automated built vehicles . you would be complaining every car is overpriced. the porsche is semi-hand built. the suspension components are leagues more advanced. thematerials cost more, making it a way more precise car. the z is awesome but there are big differences between nissan and porsche .and yes, it shows in overall performance .
drive the cayman, dont just read mags.

??? Not going down this route. I never said objectively the Cayman was superior - just my subjective opinion (damn nice car!!!). Maybe OP can test drive it and prove to himself the P-car doesn't feel more refined, planted, telepathic?, etc. But I bet he won't reach that conclusion. :icon17:

thanks unknown but what you said is not unknown to me in relation to true cost. Again you're missing my point and i just can't be bothered writing anymore. just think about it.

I get your point - it's a good one. Is Cayman 1.5x the driving experience as the Z? Probably not for us - we drive Z's.

But it's a damn fine car, and those with the $$$ available, probably think it's money well spent!

I left and looked at the base 370z. I plan to purchase it on Thursday.

A Rolex cost about 6 grand my Omega less than half a nice Seiko a grand. They all tell time.

I think the 370 will make me as happy as my 280 or the Porsche.

I thought about it too, but it's a better looking car (that gets a hell of a lot more attention) with similar performance. For me it came down to if I wanted to spend nearly $20k just for a nicer interior and better out of the box handling. I put on the Hotchkis sways and some HP+ pads and slicks at the track and can kill them. No brainer for me

I'm so tired of Caymans

I bought the 370Z b/c I like how the car looked as well as performance/drive...the back end remains me of a 911 look. Yes, I would like a porsche but I don't want to spend all that money into a new car. The Z is a fun car that gives me a sports car at a price I feel comfortable with. I've already had the bimmer & lexus.
