My kid sister loves it when I pick her up at school in the Z every once in a while. I gotta admit, I'm a little flattered when all the kids turn and stare.

I wonder if the GT-R gets the same reaction as the Z to women. Its an impressive machine, but for the most part, mostly guys know what it is. Surprisingly, I had more girls come up to me when I had my RX-8, but I think it had to do with the car being red and shiny.

i think if skyline's were legal here, more people would notice the car because they'd know that it had a history and be like 'OH thats the new sykline gtr (i dont care if nissan says that the skyline name lives on in the g35/37, thats bs). the GTR is a Beast, but i dont think it has that instant 'oooh' affect as much as the Z, to the average person. most of us car enthusiasts look at the GTR and say 'oooh' because we know what it can do, not because its the most beatiful car.

Yup. I don't care for the looks of the GTR but you do have to appreciate the performance and technology in that car.

The other day I was with my girlfriend in her Camry when a GTR passed us. I pointed it out to her and she asked "What's so special about that car?"

I had the opposite response when I had my RX-8. It was a guy magnet! Not that there's anything wrong with that, but not my thing as a middle aged married dude. I have to say though, that the questions were always very thoughtful (asking about the rotary, weight distribution, suicide doors, etc.).

Then I owned a MINI. That was a grandma magnet. But you know, cool grandmas. Except when gas was approaching $5 a gallon. Then everyone asked me what MPGs I had achieved (the answer, in case you are wondering is 40 mpg cruising at 60 mph, windows up, no AC).

Now I get the looks with the Z others describe and some "nice car!" comments. No particular demographic. Although there is a cute jogger I pass every now and again and I always get a double take from her (funny, she doesn't do that when I'm driving my Mazda)
