well, for the most part that thread was civil...i've always loved the styling and design of muscle cars, but i've always hated how they drove. for me, muscle cars are great for eye and ear candy. the VQ sounds nice, but an american v8 sounds fantastic.
|
I love how I heard a guy the other day say his Camero was true American muscle when his model was the V6. I always referred to American muscle as big V8's.
|
I mean it always come down to a V8 vs V6.
Sure they may have more power with that v8 but that's also way more weight and loss in stability/control. Our Z's handle like a champ in stock form. With the right boltons and nice tune we're pretty scary. lol... Deep down we are all car heads. We should respect each others choices not bash. |
I actually went test drove the camero SS three days ago, I told the sale's person I'm looking for a car with back seat (not true). He let me test drove it. I took it for almost 30mins test drive, the car has 15 miles on it, it came back with 31 miles haha, the sale's person was pretty cool. I took it to some twisty roads, and the high way. On the highway entrance, I floored it pedal to the metal, and the acceleration did not impress me, I have 320whp on my z, which is about 370ish bhp, and I don't feel the SS is that much faster than my Z. I think the main reason that the SS didn't impress me on the acceleration was because it's weight, almost 4k pounds. The V8 sound is addicting, so much better than the VQ37 sound (the engine sound, not the exhaust). The thing I hate the most about the camero is the windows, can't see **** inside, the windows are so small, and so high up, I'm 5-10, and I have a hard time seeing outside. I'm gonna test drive the new 5.0, see if that will impress me.

To many stripes, I like the wheels though.

I still think it is absolutely ridiculous to compare the two cars, everyone knows the Z is the clear choice hands down so no point in even wasting time comparing the two... :p
|
I test drove a fully loaded SS and it was nice! Definitely two totally different cars. I love my Z but I would drive a Camaro too!
Without stripes of course ;) |
I have one of each. Bought the camaro for the wife at the end of 2009. The Camaro is a nice highway cruiser, smooth and quiet. The car is well sorted but it is too big and heavy to be considered sporty, even by Mustang standards.
