No tags..what are my options

I had something similar happen. I live in FL and bought my car in FL and the dealership gave me a 30 day temp plate and said the real one would show up at the end of the 30 days. Well 20 days later i had to go overseas for work for a couple months and so i told the post office to hold my mail that way when i get back my plate would be there waiting for me.

So skip ahead 2 months i come back and go to the post office to get my mail and my plate. Well the post office has no clue where my mail is. In the end they could never find it and i lost 2 months worth of mail. So im like wtf am i going to do?

Turns out in FL you can just go down to the tax collector office and get a plate issued to you right then and there and it only cost me like $20 if that.
