I leased my Z beginning July 3rd, 2010. According to my paperwork it shows my first payment was due 8/2. As of today I still have not received my statement. I also called the dealer about it and they directed me to NMA. I called NMA and they show no car or lease under my name. I have never had a late payments before and this worries me. Any thoughts or opinions? My contract clearly says NMA on it as well.

Sounds like your dealer screwed up and didn't process the paperwork in a timely manner (if at all). Contact the F&I dept. again..

First get everything in writing. If the dealer sends you to NMA get that from the dealer. If NMA says that they don't have any info about your lease get that in writing. Set up your own account and make payments to it. Once they do an audit they will come at you asking for back payments and try to make it look like you didn't make payments. Once you bring out corispondance that you were trying to pay they will back down.

Sounds like they gave you a free car. You wish. I had this happen before. For my case it just took them a few work weeks for the dealer to get there paper work moving. Ended up being there fault. Almost seemed they forgot about it until I reminded them. They will want that payment though. Good thing for me due to the time frame the dealer had to pay for my tag that year.

Wow, I would wait and see. As Lemers said though, get it in writing and keep an account. Hopefully they won't find out, LOL a friend of mine bought a fully loaded car......did all the dealing, got a great price only to find out the dealer had the wrong folder and it was on a base model car........... I mean they had to eat a whole lot of money. Worked out for my friend though. Hope it does for you too.

Yeah, no one is giving you a free car. It will show up during their audit the latest. (Probably quarterly) Do as Lemers suggested.

I don't expect a free car, just the dealer to help me to be able to make my payment on time. Good news is, I leased a G35 through Infiniti before (also through NMA) and they show it paid off. It was traded in to get my Z. Obviously some paperwork left the dealer.

Part Two of my Story: After three calls to NMA they have finally received my paperwork (yet they claim they got it the day I signed for my car). I got my lease number and mailing address from them to send in my payment. Almost a week later I called them again because my payment had not yet posted to my account. I asked why my payment had not yet posted to my account. I also expressed my concern for this showing negatively on my credit report. I was told that as long as it didn't hit 30 days I would be fine and that they would refund the late fee as a one time courtesy. Well I looked at my checking account today and my payment I sent was returned to me. This is becoming a MAJOR frustration and I am once again looking for direction.

Also, I just received my welcome letter from Nissan and it was dated August 11th.
