Hopefully it gets resolved for you soon. But as far as the duct tape that is just the dealer doing his due dillagance when Nissan asks them what they did to make sure it was on the up and up. |

refills of gas if the light does not come on they claim it has to be the gas cap. sense they have already replaced the filler neck. but what im worried about is the fact its on its second cap already. and if this is the issue is it serious enough to be consider for the lemon law |
Dude I agree whole heartedly that if a dealer is putting duct tape on your fkin hard earned money let them do that **** to their own car. You deserve to be put in a fkin Nismo while they try and figure their own BS problem out. Get your money back and go elsewhere. Thats not McGyver due diligence, thats lazy poor *** customer service. Get your money and run.

My husband is an ASE/Nissan Master/GTR tech. As soon as I read the op to him, he said "Thats some shady ****." Take it to a different dealer. It may be a drive, but at least you'll get better service.

Yeah you need to go to a different dealer. That tech doesn't know what the hell he's doing. And since it's considered it's a come back it is going to keep going to the same tech instead of a new one that might know what the hell he's doing. My guess is the evap canister or pump has a leak. They should be triggering the test and using a sniffer to see if it's actually leaking in the system. If it's not they should then be looking at other components of the system. Obviously it's not the cap or the neck they already replaced those. They are probably doing it to rule out you tampering with it as mentioned before.
I once had a car that was setting an evap code and the vacuum hose leading into the canister had a small pin sized hole in it. |
I have now officially seen everything.
Duct tape. LOL! Insanity! :bowrofl: |

Yeah I have heard of the smoke test. If there is no out ward leaks more then likely it's the pump that check the system. It could be an ecu error, but at this point my guess is nissan will replace a majority of the items in the system. Manufacturer's will try a lot of things before they buy back a car, I only ever saw 1 car get bought back. GL though.
