Good for everything but ducts.

duct tape is like the force: there's a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together.

I beg to differ sir

ProfessorDave 07-30-2010 09:11 PM

That is absurd. Tell them Porsche, Maseratti, and Astin mechanics use Gorilla tape to fix CEL codes.

Seriously, sounds like Lemon Law time.

blasphemy!

is this dealer in the ghetto, wtf... duct tape... for cereal?!

sonic370 07-31-2010 08:32 AM

I totally agree. This is BS. What they are trying to find out is if the gas cap is
losing its seal but taping it on to the filler pipe. If the light doesn't come on after
two fill ups they said they would try another gas cap, which would be the third one to try. If light comes on then Damn right its lemon law time.I'm not buying a Z where the service engine soon light comes on once a week for a evac leak.

iv'e got a strange feeling if they can't figure it out they are gonna bump it up
stairs or regional directior

The dealer gets 3 tries to fix a problem, after that Nissan themselves has the option to fix it otherwise they have to make good on the lemon law.

I think that the dealer probably put the tape on there to make sure some wanker of an owner looking to get out of his car was not loosening the cap.

You most likely are not a wanker (can anyone independently confirm this? ;) ). But some people will do just about anything to get out of a car they can't afford, find they don't like, etc. The lemon law is an easy exploit if you know your way around a car well enough.

But then again the dealer may be the wanker...

trust me your choice of words i'm no wanker. i love the car and can afford it.
but would you want to keep a car where at 800 miles the service engine soon
light started to come on. and the only way to get it to go off is to have the dealer reset it for what is now the third time.( recap) 1 filler hose 2 new gas caps 1 which is now duct taped on? they have one more chance to make it right then paper work will be filled.
