Let's take the Touring package, for example. What is it in the Touring pkg that you think you might not be able to live without? Bluetooth? Leather? Something else? If you can provide some specifics, I think we'd be able to help you analyze this a little better.

I like the option of heated seats and the fact that you can get the leather seats in different colors instead of just the black for cloth. The nav system seems to fit the dashboard well and l think looks better than just a lid for a storage compartment. I'm 61 years old and likely not to buy another beautiful car like this again, so what ya think? thanks again for the replies!

If you had ordered the same car in Six speed I would trade you straight accross for my 7AT Touring. That should say something about making your purchase. I took what I could get early on, but I should have held out for the one I wanted. I want/ed Touring+Sport+PG+6Spd=my car.

If you plan to drive this car spiritedly you'll crave that third pedal. Don't get me wrong you will still very much enjoy driving the 7AT, but it just isn't the same.

Well, I think it might make sense to get the Touring pkg for heated leather seats (not to mention Bluetooth and whatever else comes with Touring). Not so sure it's worth ponying up for the nav system though, not if it's just an issue of looks. You don't mention anything about needing or wanting the actual functionality of nav, so if it's really just a matter of looks, I personally wouldn't get the nav. What is it? $2k or something like that? Now, I do think that the fact that you're 61 and most likely won't buy another car like this again is something that should be factored in. You've worked long and hard to get to where you are, and you deserve to get something you'll enjoy. I mean, if it's going to be your last car of this type/caliber, why not splurge a little and get all the bells and whistles? You only live once, right?

I will say this. A few years ago when I bought a 350Z, I decided to 'settle' for the Enthusiast model because I didn't feel justified in splurging for the Grand Touring. I wouldn't say I had remorse over it, but I will say that every now and then I'd wish I had gotten the Grand Touring for the leather seats, larger wheels, etc. So this time around when I got my 370Z, I decided to get the Touring so that I wouldn't have to go through second-guessing myself again. Not having to second-guess, post purchase, might alone be worth going ahead and getting the full meal deal. Something to think about anyway.

First let me say that I'm older than you are but this definitely won't be the last "beautiful car like this" I buy - age has got nothing to do with it. That said, I bought a 7AT Touring model without either the Sport or the Nav package - exactly what I wanted. It's my daily drive. The plain Touring model simultaneously satisfies my need for creature comforts and speed very well indeed. Also I couldn't see dropping $1,800 on a GPS and 9.3G hard drive for music. I've been finding my way around in a car without the former since I was 16. As for the latter, my 8G flash-based MP3 player plugs nicely into the AUX so I always have those tunes plus 6 CDs in the player. For me, no buyer's remorse...life is GOOD!! Whatever you get, just enjoy the hell out of it. :icon17:

i was going to go with base...but i love how everything is so intergrated with the screen....so gotta cough it up and get the nav/touring.
really though if the base had the screen i would just get that....

Just wanted to add my two cent, and correct me if im wrong but...

It you buy the touring without the navi then if looks like you will not be able to update the headunit to a system with navigation because the headunit is integrated into the A/C and heat controls...

whereas if you buy just the base model the headunit is seperate from the heat and A/C controls

I plan on buying the base model with sport package and placing my navigation system from my 350 into it.. it will look real clean and that way and i will be able to wire my ipod into the compartment above the headunit just as in my 350.

If I were you, no question about it, I'd get the Touring/Nav. Buy what you really want and you'll never have regrets. And from the sound of things, you want the Touring/Nav.

Checkout the Owner's Manual

I strongly suggest that buyers who wish to suffer less or potential buyer's remorse please review the Owner's Manual located here by AK370Z: 370Z Owner's Manual

I can say that we purchased the Touring package without the nav, and I like the center console better for its styling, but the Owner's Manual really caters to those who buy the nav package, and sucks when it comes to the other choices. The nav unit also has some of the car's features that can be adjusted on-screen: p. 4-6 (p. 129 if you input a page).

Great thread guys. Planning to buy in about 6 months and I think I will go back and forth btwn base+sports or touring+sports until then. Not going to be my DD, but if i drive for holidays or weekends I will be driving for over 2 hrs at a time, so the leather seats would be nice, but maybe not 4k nice. I live in Cali so heated seats aren't a big deal either.

Yep. All I want are the leather seats.

It was an easy choice when I bought my Legacy, it was only about a $2000 option for the leather and the gigantic sunroof. Can't really fork over $4k for only 2 leather seats :p .
