Default Dead Pedal/Footrest height

Anyone else scratching their head over the height of the dead pedal on the Z? In every sports car I've driven over the years (more years than cars, unfortunately), the height of the dead pedal/footrest is even with the clutch pedal. That way you can slip your foot off the rest to shift, then right back to brace yourself during "spirited" driving.

Anyone come up with a mod/fix for this issue? Any of the aftermarket pedals address this?

Hi professordave!

I've not had issues with the deadpedal... I think first time reading about it too here(?).

Hey Ken!

I realize I'm being picky...nothing else to criticize about the car!

Yeah, I agree.....It's very poorly angled for serious work..

Probably cause it's just molded into the carpet with a block of styrofoam behind it...

You could probably trim the syrofoam below it to suit the angle you want. Not sure if that would work out okay with the stock pedal or not.

I agree with the OP. It's not even a dead-pedal, really. It's the floor practically.

+1 for the op I hate that "footrest". Even in the 7at it's awkward.

Where do you put your left foot then? Yes, the pedal could be 3 inches or so higher.

Is this a height issue? I'm nearly 6'3' and can't imagine where else, except empty space, to rest it.

Trip likes to hang his foot out the window while he drives.
