There's actually a lot of highly enthusiastic "non-enthusiasts" on here then, buddy...

To the OP: Unless you really like 'verts, the coupe is always going to be less of a hassle for a DD (no need to put top up/down, no fear of mechanism failing, cloth ripping, etc.).

Also, cost more, weigh more, and generally more to insure...

Nothing against convertables, mind you...

When it's 101 degrees, 99% humidity, and a cloudless sky at. say, 3PM; my enthusiasm for a convertible wanes a bit. However, in the early morning or at night before/after the heat of the day or on a crisp fall morning or a spring day, it's difficult to match the enjoyment of a drop top!

Oh, agreed! But that means the fun of having the top down is worth the little bit of extra hassle for you --- not everybody wants to deal that, which is all I was saying.

As for me, I'd love a convertable hard-top or t-tops -- best of both worlds

I voted for the roadster because that's what I bought. I wanted a convertible. That was my primary reason for buying a car right now. Here in Phoenix I can leave the top down most of the time. In the 2 months I've had the car, I've only put it up when taking my wife to dinner some Saturday nights. Each person has to decide for themselves whether that is worth the extra cost, possibility of problems with the mechanism, lack of security when parked and all. It is for me. And I don't consider it to be "uglier."
