What Would You Buy (Survey)?

Hey everyone!

<o></o>I need a little advice/opinions and thought this might be one way to get it.

<o></o>Assumptions:
  • Vehicle would not be a daily driver/only vehicle (primary purpose is “FUN”; see more on that below)
On a scale of 1-10 (10 being most important)…
  • Outright performance is a “5”
  • Comfort and convenience is a “6”
  • Vehicle will be fully equipped with all options
  • For purposes of this survey, Price is not a consideration
  • For purposes of this survey, transmission choice is not a consideration (I like and can happily live with either a 7AT or 6MT)
Please take my “survey” and then post what you think - thanks in advance for your input!!!

Survey(?) This post screams out for a "Poll".

EDIT: Ahhh... there it is!

Robert_Nash 06-16-2010 01:02 PM

Poll/survey...is there a difference? :)

- Primary purpose is “FUN”
- transmission choice is not a consideration

just get the car that makes more sense to you. my Z is my hobby car and therefore 6MT and base + sports package with no extra crappage onboard, just the way i like it. :p

When you say fun, I think you have to explain what you have in mind. Because there are two ideas of fun in a car, a long drive in the country (i.e. roadtrip), or going to the track and beating the hell out of it. I'm guessing you're a drive in the country type of cat.

I autocross my vehicles (even thought I'm technically not supposed to); however, HPDEs are not an option.

I drive hard but yes, they tend to be road trips and cruise-ins and as often as I can get to the Tail of the Dragon and the Hellbender (NC/TN border) :)

You can get an idea of how I use my Z's here: Robert's Route 66 Ramblings

Let's PLEASE not turn this into an AT v MT discussion.

I sad it doesn't matter because, for purposes of this poll, it truly doesn't matter since I am equally happy with either.

Fun is a pretty vague and subjective term. I'd go with the Touring Coupe. In fact, I DID go with it! If you want to call the 40th Anni model that anyway.

Robert_Nash 06-16-2010 03:16 PM

I really didn't anticipate that "fun" would be this complicated! :)

"Fun" just means it isn't an only vehicle...it means I don't "have" to use it for anything except what I want to use it for.

I may use it to go to the target range or I may use it to go to a cruise-in or I may use it to travel across country or to put it in a car show or an autocross or to hit the Tail of the Dragon and I may even use it to get to work now and then but it's only because I want to...it's all FUN!

BY THE WAY...
For those of you voting for the Touring Coupe; I'm wondering what issue/issues is pushing you in that direction specifically as opposed to the Roadster (which is currently in 2nd place)???

:shakes head: If you really want to start another bovine scatology argument about how true enthusiasts only drive manuals feel free; just do it in your own thread.

antman22 06-16-2010 03:54 PM

i dont believe i have any issues with the roadster, but for me, coupe > roadster in most cars. I'm typically a fan of the benefits of having a hardtop vs the open top variants. the only convertibles i would purchase would be in hardtop convertible forms.

now if someone offered me a ferrari spyder i wouldn't turn it away....
