he said the only way these people get caught is when they get caught red handed. so after explaining all of my reasoning of why i think this guy is the theif hitting multiple people. he's like 'let me ask you this... did anyone see this happen/did any of your neighbors come to to you and tell you what they saw' i'm like 'no'

so he is all like 'the only way these people get caught is red handed.

He thought OEM wheels were some type of high performance aftermarket wheel, cuz i was mentioning that his number was linked to a whole bunch of OEM wheels from audi's and infinities being stolen.

These guys hit the dealership that my car was purchased at. i just called today to ask them if there was any way to identify the wheels and he mentioned that 3 sets of wheels had been stolen.

Let me ask you something. . . just having a witness is enough?
How does the POLICE prove that the witness isn't lying? What if I have a suspect and a fake witness?

Cyberium 05-28-2010 03:51 PM

Exactly...

I'd say arrange a meeting with this guy and find out what he looks like. Then get your neighbor to say they saw some guy with his description sneaking around your house in the middle of the night.

If they want to play games... then play games.

This would give you a reason to shoot the guy on the spot and it should be legal to do so.

excellent idea! Where would be a good place on wheels? Inside the wheel under the tire? :ugh2: :happydance:

Well my volks have serial numbers on them - and I have a photo with my name and the date with the wheels on my car. So if they were stolen - it should be pretty easy to track down. Also they have very unique curb rash which I think is a blessing in disguise - no smart thief is going to steal your one rashed left front and back right lol...

When I bought my Z a few weeks ago from a dealer here in Calif they had all their Zs on the lot parked side by side - about 3 inches apart. When I asked why they too had been hit and it was a deterrent to keep people from stealing the wheels.

InTheZone 05-28-2010 09:19 PM

people jacking cars or stuff from cars is very personal. I think if I ever had a gun and caught them in the act, I'd make sure they'd never think about doing anything like that again.

yea right now the Z is in the garage, and the altima and G the mirrors are less than an inch apart and the front wheels are turned all the way.

I'd be more concerned with my car sitting on bricks in areas that are not lift points.

Got Damage?

Jeffblue 05-29-2010 09:27 AM

no damage, they basically were on the rails where jack points would be.

Duxbrit9972 05-29-2010 09:34 PM

That's NCPD saying that? Like they are busy doing anything else?

Duxbrit9972 05-29-2010 09:43 PM

Did you try to call NYPD AUTO CRIME UNIT? They may know or may want to know about this perp.

I moved back home and have only been here for 3 days. i was going to clean the garage out this weekend so i could move the car in. There was no place to get the alarm installed where i was at school, and i was thinking i'd be ok for 5 days, but apparently not. very frustrating. I have compiled a whole list of information/evidence that i have tried to give to the police but they really don't care. I have told them i'm not trying to (For lack of a better phrase) spin there wheels. i'm not trying to get mine back. i'm trying to help so this DOESNT HAPPEN ANYMORE. If anyone else on here wants to help, i will post his phone number later when i get home. if you google it, you will find recent for sale threads for sets of:

24" avanti wheels
audi a8 wheels
g37s wheels
volk wheels
my 370z wheels.

once i put the number up, keep your eyes open, if you find a sale thread with that number, the wheels are probably stolen. he is from st albins queens/jamaica queens NY

This is going to sound extremely stupid, but it's somewhat relevant; I'm not at suggesting you do this, but because I have to parallel park in the city so much, I have light scratches and curb rashes on pretty much all my wheels. There's no way someone could reproduce the scratches and curb rashes, so if someone did steal my wheels (though why bother with a damaged set anyways?), I'd be able to identify them immediately.

Do you have the option to get cash instead and just buy the wheels/tires on your own? If so I have a complete mint set for sale, with TPMS!

Yep there are a bunch of people sitll going around stealin wheels. The last douche who tried to steal a G37 set tried to sell them on here and one of our members was the victim. They got caught though....wonder if its them again.
