Uhmmm, who knows - I think he actually put them on the inside of the plastic center caps, all 4 of course. Maybe even consider laying a little paint of a special color on the inside.

I think you can track the IP address the add came from (his house), go steal them back :p

it really sucks this happened to you!

Negatory. The IP address you see is merely a virtual address that can potentially change. Furthermore, you'd have to somehow access the customer database of the ISP that owns the addy to get access to "Who owned that IP address at that time"?

To make it worse, they can easily be spoofed :-p lol

Yea i'm trying to figure out the best way to uniquely identify my wheels so if they were ever stolen again, i'd have a way of proving they were mine. the problem is its gotta be obvious enough to be able to see, but not so its something they can cover up. i think inside the bore where the center cap covers would be a good place. no one would look there. maybe etch some sort of code or your name or vin or something.

btw i just got off the phone with the insurance guy at the shop. the total bill for new wheels, TPMS, tires and lugs mounted and balanced and installed was a little over 3700 dollars. i mean. i think that price is a little high, but they have to do everything brand new from the factory/parts dept. thank god i have comprehensive insurance. i only have to pay $500 of that.

I'm sorry bro. You probably know about the guy in Hicksville who had this experience too:

You say you are in Nassau too - it has to be the same people who did this.

Can you link me to the guy from Suffolk who had this issue too, I'm in suffolk as well, I have base wheels though not sports, and we have two sports car in the driveway with a camera system me and my buddy with the other car bought half and half together.

Thats him, its his friend who's front wheels were stolen.

I take my wheels off every night....:wtf2:

I have security cameras around my house to at least see who did it...Alarm in my car for motion/glass breakage.

Definitely wheel locks would help,...

I would've saved the $500 and used that towards new/used aftermarket rims and tires and sell the fornts to recoup some money...

Good luck and ask your neighbors if they saw anything,..

Id personally stake out myself with a lure and have a hugh bat handy....I also keep my glock 9mm, Sig 40, mossberg 500, and remington 870 handy... :)

I had friends who lived in a rough part of Baltimore City. They weren't gun owners, but their car bore an NRA sticker, an FOP sticker, and had empty bullet boxes in clear view in the back seat. They never had a break-in in that car.

Just got off the phone with the detective. its official. the police don't care.

Jeffblue 05-28-2010 03:15 PM

oh and yea. i bought aftermarket wheels in may. they are still on order. So this is really just a pain in the ***. 2 rear wheels and tires are worth more than 500 dollars so it makes more sense to pay the deductible to have them back to sell the whole set together.

i dont understand that, cause it very well may be the same guys back at it from last time...

thats so lame.. Im gonna contact him now and express interest in the rims and see what he says.

Thats your wheels and my buddies that were stolen within 4 days of each other.. its basically a "serial" rim stealer.. Insurance companies have to put heat on law enforcement to stop this as they pay out thousands of dollars.

Police would care if it was his own.

Cyberium 05-28-2010 03:28 PM

I used to live in Suffolk... the cops out there are the highest paid in the country and don't give a **** about helping anyone out like this. If it doesn't happen right in front of their face "you can't prove it"

Best of luck with this man... I know how it feels to have your personal security feel violated.
