Stolen Wheels!!!!! ANGRY

So this morning I go to leave for work and i see this:

It happened between 2 and 7 AM last night (May 27 2010). They used bricks from a house down the road that was under construction and stole my back 2 rays 19 inch sport wheels. They also tried to steal the wheels of an escalade around the block, but they didn't stack enough bricks and the car moved once one wheel was off, so they just left with that.

So i called the police right away, filed claim with insurance, my car is about to be flat bedded to the shop and tomorrow i am getting brand new take offs from another 2010z to replace them, i just have to pay the 500 dollar deductible, insurance is covering everything else.

Either way, some piece of Sh1t stole my wheels. Clearly this was some kind of special order, or they would have taken the whole set.

If any of you see for sale (craigslist/ebay) a set of 2 19" rear wheels from a 370z in the Long island/New york/New Jersey/metro area please let me know as i would like to catch these bastards.

MY CAR STILL HAS A TEMPORARY REGISTRATION/900 miles on the odometer FOR CHRIST SAKE

man, that really sux...def ge the locking lugs, they aren't 100% effective, but its enough to deter 95% of the a-holes out there that can't pay for their own crap.

sorry to hear the bad news, hopefully they get caught trying to sell them off.

edit- noticed i wrote "are 100% effective"...supposed to be "aren't"

Wow, sucks to hear, hope they catch the a-holes who did this.

Aahh shoot, sorry about your lost man. I wonder why you have not in the garage. Mine is garage all the time, but now I'm gonna get that wheel lock for sure.

Sorry to hear and SEE those photos. Second thread like this, I believe. (Not this particular car but second time it's happened to someone on here)

You aren't the first person to have this happen to in NY. Gah this is rediculous, I feel sorry for you man.

Locking lugs just delays the stealing process. Get a shock sensor alarm and no one could steal rims without setting it off.

yea i bought this car 3 weeks ago after finishing school, and i'm moving back home (i've been here 3 days) and i hadn't had time to clean out the garage to put the car in yet, nor get the wheel locks. This weekend i was planning on cleaning out hte garage and getting the car in there and pickup wheel locks.

Im gonna keep that in the garage, get locking lucks, and get an alarm.... and maybe some land mines and a pet tiger :icon14:

That is pathetic! Definitely need wheel locks...at leaat that will stop/deter the "amateur" thieves.

If someone doesn't have a shock sensor. The thieves only need a few extra sockets and the locks are off. They hammer the socket onto the lock lug.

Best idea yet:tup:

Jeffblue 05-27-2010 02:12 PM

yea i don't have that much faith in the locking lugs, i had them on another car, i mean yea its better than leaving a jack and a torque wrench out there for them to use, but i feel like unless its in a garage or has an alarm, its not safe.
