Damn... I'm glad I left new york. Ur like the 3rd member from long island in a year to mention stolen wheels. I'm really sorry. It seems its a hot item up there. I remember when I was a teenager. I lived in brooklyn. There was a chop shop near my house n a few of my friends worked for them.
My friends would always go to long island to either steal a car or get the parts. Reason is. Long island is desolate. No one walks the streets or hangs out in the residential areas. So cops don't patrol and when ur asleep. Its really easy to steal cars, unlike in the city where police are scattered like roaches and you will find people walking around @ all hours. My advice. If you own a car in long island, queens or a jersey suburb close to the city. Garage your car or get maximum alarm protection |
Mate, here in Oz, if we ever see any f*ck ******* with our Z's its not a case of 'Thats not a knife....this *is* a kinfe' - we just effing stab the f*ckers first and ask Questions later. F*ck the f*ckers....
yeah, effing toughen up or get stabbed, you f*ucking thieves.... for a everyone who is nice we are the nicest people you can want to meet....ha ha...yo 'bro go the Z |
Mate, and I'm talking an Aussie Croc hunting Knife, not some piss weak NY city knife, a knife that will pluck your heart out like an artichoke popped from a picked bottle quicker than you can say 'sheeeet'.
'nuff said. I hate ppl who steal from winners who dirve Z's . |

if only there were a way to put a ceramic insulator between the wheel and the rotor and some insulating washers on the mag nuts(have to insulate the side of the nut somehow as well)then just run some extremely high voltage capicitors to each wheel with enough a charge to run through the would be thiefs heart out his knee when he kneels down and puts the wrench on the wheel, 1.5 amps should be just enough to kill his ***, then you just need enough a voltage to span the gap his clothes would make and to interupt his heart beat. maybe mist salt water on the ground around the car and have a wire hang down in the center to create a full dc circuit with a spare battery in the trunk to same effect only with a longer sizzle when his muscle clamp up on the wrench.
or if you know where he lives burn his to the ground while he's asleep, or on the legal side get PI to trace back the cell number snoop around a little take some photos of dude in the act, and turn him in. sure you'd be out a few thousand to have a full time tail on the guy for a couple weeks but you'd have him. Oh and on a side note just Piss you off I've had my car in the air wheels on on jackstands 6" off the ground for the last week in my driveway (yes 19" rays) and the only thing that has happened was that the neighbor kid asked me if he could check out my car (he's 12 so no worries there). I don't want to say it but i kinda hope someone steals my wheels so i can get a freakin set of volks(not the reason it's in the air though mother f***ing oil cooler failure facked my engine) |
i'm sure that whole contraption with the electricity (as much as i like it) is probably illegal. i mean can you imagine if some little kid was on a walk with his parents and touched your wheel and died? i'd feel pretty bad.
That knife is pretty nice. is it illegal in the US to have one of those? BTW does anyone know if someone were to start hammering away to try and break your wheel lock so they could get your wheel off, would it set off your alarm if it had a tilt sensor/audio sensor, or would it need some other kind of sensor. i'm getting a vipor 3303 with tilt/audio sensor and smart start. |
In NY it is illegal to own

This is horrible to see, BUT Jeff has a secret coming.

There are alot of jackasses walking around in the world, and I should have the right to protect myself via knife, esp when I can do it with a gun. IMO |
God I can't believe that ******* people should die.
|
I know exactly how you feel man. This happened to my 350Z the first month I owned it. Except they stole the front wheels. The early gen 350's were notorious for tire feathering on the fronts. Unfortunately, it is easier to steal them than to buy them. Time to invest in some wheel locks.
|
Got up this morning. All 4 wheels gone, and I had the nissan wheel locks =/
|
wow wtf man that blows.. fking thieves, such pieces of ****

yep, like i said in the other thread, if my dealer didnt steal my stock lugs to install their nissan locks, i would use the regular lugs.
|
Yeah that sucks big time! The 19s are worth a lot of money and
they look great. Which makes for a big target. put locking lug nuts on mine but know it is a waste of money.but had to try something |
Man, reading stuff like this makes me nervous everytime I go our to the parking lot in the morning.. I feel relieved when I see all 4 wheels still attached to the Z!
|

Ashame people are doing this........makes ya just ...well you know. The same thing is happening with the 09/10 Maxima Sport rims, they are being ripped off as well. They have had a few threads recently as well on the org regarding the same thing.....
|
This makes me sick just looking at the pictures. My Z has about the same mileage, and I just put my plates on. I would really hurt the SOB's if I ever caught them in the act. Wanna hear something even sicker...my buddy just bought a new Camaro SS. Came out of a mall in H Town and saw that someone had keyed his new ride. They hit both sides of the car, from front to rear. I guess I just do not have a sick enough mind to figure out why someone would do this...I hope you catch them.

I recommend checking craigslist for new ads for 370z wheels and trying to get the person with the police. As far as thefuture, I'd try and get a check from insurance for replacement cost and get yourself some nice aftermarket wheels. And get a viper with tilt sensor immediately. Your car is not safe without it. Do you guys think that nice OEM wheels are stolen more than aftermarket wheels bc they are easier to sell and hard to prove the ownership? Or you think that aftermarket wheels are stolen more? |
The Houston Cops have said that the stock items are stolen more than the aftermarket items. They also communicated that the hottest theft target in Houston right now is the 2009-10 Ford F-250 Truck. Go figure...

WTF:mad: That SUX.... Sorry to hear that... Hope the police will get that loser.

This is so strange that they only stole two wheels.

Yea the cops don't care at all. They just think you want your stuff back. I just don't want this to happen again to me or anyone else!

Holy crap... Did you see those brick...Those are some really nice bricks!

however I did luck out in the sense that they didn't damage my car at all while stealing my wheels, if you can call that lucky. |
Where are the pics with the altima wheels on the z. That should be really cool to see. I was thinking of setting mine up with those wheels.
|

They weren't the stock altima wheels, they were the 18s I had one aftermarket and I tool off before I sold the car. They are the chrome ones that are on the altima album in my profile, I can post pics up if you want to see what a +45 18x8.5 looks like on the back of a Z. Very tucked in to say the least. |
Sorry to hear about this. I was vandalized myself a couple days ago...what a sh*tty feeling!
I would definitely take the check from the insurance company and try to buy your replacement wheels via a private sale. You'd probably even end up with some cash in your pocket if you do it that way. |
Sorry to say but I do think pics would make for some great conversation
