Damn... I'm glad I left new york. Ur like the 3rd member from long island in a year to mention stolen wheels. I'm really sorry. It seems its a hot item up there. I remember when I was a teenager. I lived in brooklyn. There was a chop shop near my house n a few of my friends worked for them.
My friends would always go to long island to either steal a car or get the parts.
Reason is. Long island is desolate. No one walks the streets or hangs out in the residential areas. So cops don't patrol and when ur asleep. Its really easy to steal cars, unlike in the city where police are scattered like roaches and you will find people walking around @ all hours.
My advice. If you own a car in long island, queens or a jersey suburb close to the city. Garage your car or get maximum alarm protection

Mate, here in Oz, if we ever see any f*ck ******* with our Z's its not a case of 'Thats not a knife....this *is* a kinfe' - we just effing stab the f*ckers first and ask Questions later. F*ck the f*ckers....

Gee 05-30-2010 10:40 AM

Mate, and I'm talking an Aussie Croc hunting Knife, not some piss weak NY city knife, a knife that will pluck your heart out like an artichoke popped from a picked bottle quicker than you can say 'sheeeet'.

'nuff said. I hate ppl who steal from winners who dirve Z's

.

You do realize some people here walk around with machetes right? Good luck with that knife if you run into one of these guys

It happened between 2 and 7 AM last night (May 27 2010). They used bricks from a house down the road that was under construction and stole my back 2 rays 19 inch sport wheels. They also tried to steal the wheels of an escalade around the block, but they didn't stack enough bricks and the car moved once one wheel was off, so they just left with that.

So i called the police right away, filed claim with insurance, my car is about to be flat bedded to the shop and tomorrow i am getting brand new take offs from another 2010z to replace them, i just have to pay the 500 dollar deductible, insurance is covering everything else.

Either way, some piece of Sh1t stole my wheels. Clearly this was some kind of special order, or they would have taken the whole set.

If any of you see for sale (craigslist/ebay) a set of 2 19" rear wheels from a 370z in the Long island/New york/New Jersey/metro area please let me know as i would like to catch these bastards.

MY CAR STILL HAS A TEMPORARY REGISTRATION/900 miles on the odometer FOR CHRIST SAKE

1slow370 05-31-2010 03:58 AM

if only there were a way to put a ceramic insulator between the wheel and the rotor and some insulating washers on the mag nuts(have to insulate the side of the nut somehow as well)then just run some extremely high voltage capicitors to each wheel with enough a charge to run through the would be thiefs heart out his knee when he kneels down and puts the wrench on the wheel, 1.5 amps should be just enough to kill his ***, then you just need enough a voltage to span the gap his clothes would make and to interupt his heart beat. maybe mist salt water on the ground around the car and have a wire hang down in the center to create a full dc circuit with a spare battery in the trunk to same effect only with a longer sizzle when his muscle clamp up on the wrench.

or if you know where he lives burn his to the ground while he's asleep, or on the legal side get PI to trace back the cell number snoop around a little take some photos of dude in the act, and turn him in. sure you'd be out a few thousand to have a full time tail on the guy for a couple weeks but you'd have him.

Oh and on a side note just Piss you off I've had my car in the air wheels on on jackstands 6" off the ground for the last week in my driveway (yes 19" rays) and the only thing that has happened was that the neighbor kid asked me if he could check out my car (he's 12 so no worries there). I don't want to say it but i kinda hope someone steals my wheels so i can get a freakin set of volks(not the reason it's in the air though mother f***ing oil cooler failure facked my engine)

Jeffblue 05-31-2010 05:16 PM

i'm sure that whole contraption with the electricity (as much as i like it) is probably illegal. i mean can you imagine if some little kid was on a walk with his parents and touched your wheel and died? i'd feel pretty bad.

That knife is pretty nice. is it illegal in the US to have one of those?

BTW does anyone know if someone were to start hammering away to try and break your wheel lock so they could get your wheel off, would it set off your alarm if it had a tilt sensor/audio sensor, or would it need some other kind of sensor.

i'm getting a vipor 3303 with tilt/audio sensor and smart start.

blue660r01 05-31-2010 07:00 PM

In NY it is illegal to own

Chris_1 05-31-2010 07:07 PM

Every state is different, It is illegal in pretty much every state I believe. Some states including Texas allow you to have it in a collection only. It's absolutely illegal to carry on you, or in an automobile. Which is really idiotic to me, I can legally carry a handgun in my glovebox, but not a switchblade? :gtfo2:

There are alot of jackasses walking around in the world, and I should have the right to protect myself via knife, esp when I can do it with a gun. IMO

k20z3 05-31-2010 09:30 PM

God I can't believe that ******* people should die.

elmz 05-31-2010 10:38 PM

I know exactly how you feel man. This happened to my 350Z the first month I owned it. Except they stole the front wheels. The early gen 350's were notorious for tire feathering on the fronts. Unfortunately, it is easier to steal them than to buy them. Time to invest in some wheel locks.

spinhead 06-16-2010 08:58 AM

Got up this morning. All 4 wheels gone, and I had the nissan wheel locks =/

Liquid_G 06-16-2010 09:04 AM

wow wtf man that blows.. fking thieves, such pieces of ****

Wheel locks do nothing but slow them down, and not much at that.

kenchan 06-16-2010 10:16 AM

yep, like i said in the other thread, if my dealer didnt steal my stock lugs to install their nissan locks, i would use the regular lugs.

sonic370 06-16-2010 10:32 AM

Yeah that sucks big time! The 19s are worth a lot of money and
they look great. Which makes for a big target. put locking
lug nuts on mine but know it is a waste of money.but had to try
something

Tronchaser 06-16-2010 10:53 AM

Man, reading stuff like this makes me nervous everytime I go our to the parking lot in the morning.. I feel relieved when I see all 4 wheels still attached to the Z!

dudafunk 06-17-2010 10:09 AM

fake home security signs - Google Search

Montez 06-17-2010 05:00 PM

Ashame people are doing this........makes ya just ...well you know. The same thing is happening with the 09/10 Maxima Sport rims, they are being ripped off as well. They have had a few threads recently as well on the org regarding the same thing.....

rmorrow 06-17-2010 06:03 PM

This makes me sick just looking at the pictures. My Z has about the same mileage, and I just put my plates on. I would really hurt the SOB's if I ever caught them in the act. Wanna hear something even sicker...my buddy just bought a new Camaro SS. Came out of a mall in H Town and saw that someone had keyed his new ride. They hit both sides of the car, from front to rear. I guess I just do not have a sick enough mind to figure out why someone would do this...I hope you catch them.

WTF. I'm sorry to hear that man. Now I don't feel that bad about not having had them on when mine were stolen. The best thing is really the alarm with tilt sensor. Having no wheel locks or alarm is really asking for it as far as thieves are concerned. Basically all it takes is you leaving your car one place and they spot it, they take them.

I recommend checking craigslist for new ads for 370z wheels and trying to get the person with the police. As far as thefuture, I'd try and get a check from insurance for replacement cost and get yourself some nice aftermarket wheels. And get a viper with tilt sensor immediately. Your car is not safe without it.

Do you guys think that nice OEM wheels are stolen more than aftermarket wheels bc they are easier to sell and hard to prove the ownership? Or you think that aftermarket wheels are stolen more?

rmorrow 06-17-2010 06:56 PM

The Houston Cops have said that the stock items are stolen more than the aftermarket items. They also communicated that the hottest theft target in Houston right now is the 2009-10 Ford F-250 Truck. Go figure...

laZymf 06-17-2010 11:43 PM

WTF:mad: That SUX.... Sorry to hear that... Hope the police will get that loser.

Waiz 06-18-2010 12:54 AM

This is so strange that they only stole two wheels.

Yea the cops don't care at all. They just think you want your stuff back. I just don't want this to happen again to me or anyone else!

Haha it's ok. I made that joke when the cop was there. I was like "at least they used nice bricks..."

however I did luck out in the sense that they didn't damage my car at all while stealing my wheels, if you can call that lucky.

Lemers 06-20-2010 12:55 PM

Where are the pics with the altima wheels on the z. That should be really cool to see. I was thinking of setting mine up with those wheels.

They weren't the stock altima wheels, they were the 18s I had one aftermarket and I tool off before I sold the car. They are the chrome ones that are on the altima album in my profile, I can post pics up if you want to see what a +45 18x8.5 looks like on the back of a Z. Very tucked in to say the least.

craniac24 06-20-2010 01:15 PM

Sorry to hear about this. I was vandalized myself a couple days ago...what a sh*tty feeling!

I would definitely take the check from the insurance company and try to buy your replacement wheels via a private sale. You'd probably even end up with some cash in your pocket if you do it that way.

Lemers 06-20-2010 01:28 PM

Sorry to say but I do think pics would make for some great conversation
