yep. a small price to pay for piece of mind for me atleast. think about it. tow will cost 100-120 depending on where it dies, 500+ ings splitter gets scuffed when she is pulled up onto the flatbed, my wheels could get scuffed from the straps on the flat bed, down time of minimum 2-3 days (current turnaround is about 2wks for most folks), i would need to pickup the car afterhours which is a huge inconvenience for my wife and me, dirtied car, possible scuffs on panels. :ugh2: and probably more surprises too... if under warranty that's great, but if not, 850+ bill.

not 100% but from my guess you are fine. build date Sep2009 and earlier are probably going to be recalled if nissan goes forward with it. :)

SPOHN.......is Mike doing your powdercoat? Just curious, I have seen his work and it's top notch.

Steering column lock.....hummm...will have to check tonight. Car was purchased in Mar 09, so it may fall into the pre build Sept 09 issue. My solution is to have the second Z at bay at all times...haha.....no, all kidding a side this sux. I wonder if I can jimmie mine at the dealer parking lot to fail, then have it replaced under warranty. Thx Ken for that info. Is there a thread on this issue somewhere on the forum? Are the G37's having the same issue?

ZForce 12-07-2011 07:37 PM

Ok I think this is the thread on the steering lock.... http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...ml#post1439359

Drove over to the bowling alley for a company function, where i proceeded to bowl the best games ever. Bowled 7 games with the first being 14x, steadily went up until I capped it off with a 238 (with an uncounted strike in the 10th due to a foul) in my 7th game :D
