Urghhh...back to work. Such a loss for any kind of motivaiton after the holidays and time off.

Bruce, car looks good.

Installed the PWJDM shift knob(s) and did the water bottle mod. What an improvement in the looks dept. The o-ring's just looked sloppy. Still testing out the weight and throw, so far I like. The notchy feel between 1st and 2nd is gone. Highly recommended this mod.

Block off plates for oil coolers are finished, looking into a further mod to adjust the plate.

Replaced the chin spoiler on the bro's Z.....tire curbs are next.

All in all the old lady is still dirty.

LaterZ

Ken - would you like me to ask our Z Club members here in Houston? Cars and Coffee is Saturday, and a lot of Z's will be there.

Mike

thanks zforce.

My oil cooler block off plate is a partial one and luckily (not intended) perfectly/barely fits through the front openings so I cna remove and place it without bumper removal. It is a bit tight to get my hands through though so it mgiht nto work if you have big hands/wrists. I find that partial block off to be just right so far for socal as my temps cna get up to 200-210 in street driving and stay just above 180 generally when cruising at night. That's with temps in the 50s and up though for colder nights. On the way to the track (the ngiht before, and in an area I never drive to otherwise so it doesn't usually pertian to me), the temps outside dropped into the 30s and my car was down to liek 160 when cruising. I'm not sure how cold it gets up where you are so a partial block -off might not be good enough for you. It does make it eays to adjust though if it is adequate enough to kepe your tmeps up in your area.

Today... Today I opened garage door and stared at my z for 10 minutes again... Ahhh, I wish summer is coming soon!!

brucelidat 01-03-2012 07:59 PM

Not sure what size cooler you have, but if it's a 19 row, your block off plate might still fit through the front also, even if it is a complete block-off. If not, I believe there's a thread somewhere here where someone was able to adjust their plate without full bumper removalby removing the black plastic covering that's all the way in front of the engine. Comes off pretty easily. It also requires fairly thin arms though I believe. Looked a bit too tight for me.

I was doing that for a while, but it really doesn't suffice for getting down into the nooks and crannies.

Baer383 01-03-2012 09:12 PM

I used compressed air from my compressor, works good at getting in tight spots.

happytheman 01-03-2012 09:21 PM

Yah, but guess what? This vacuum doubles as a blower too! GIGGITY :excited:

brucelidat 01-03-2012 09:40 PM

that vac looks nice but a bit pricye for me. Need some good extensions for my handvac for getting down in the crack next to the seats

Hey Bruce, thanks for the feedback. My hands are too big for any kind of adjustment thru the grill. I have a full cover plate modded up. My temps right now are about the same for daytime and early morning has been in the 30's. I am going to try blocking off 80% at first at test it to see where the temps settle in on the gauge and then adjust for the sensor error (or misplacement by Nissan). If it's a 20 ~ error reading on the high side then 170 on the guage would be actually 190 which would be my ideal minimun temp. Trial and error and for the time being I will probably access the cover plate thru the underbelly plastic cover at least until I can mod something else. Will be installing the oil cooler this Sunday with some friends.

Good morning Mr Onzedge! You got mail on FB.

Happy Weds, we made to hump day, now where is Friday.

Going to the local cat and dog buffet tonight. As I say a billion Chinese people can't be wrong. :ugh2: Oh they have a sushi bar also. The guy makes them as you watch.
