^ Kenchan kenchan'd his Z! :D

I too kenchan'd my Z... I drove by a dealership to look at a car, and sales dude was inching over.... started mouthing how long have you had this... I proceeded to mumble... "a while", then got in the car and drove off. God, I hate dealerships. Just leave me alone to look at cars, will ya.... I should have drove there tomorrow.

Haven't driven my car since Wednesday. It's back in the shop where it belongs.

^Haha, gotta love the first with a one off setup.

I just got back from Shanghai last night, washed the Z this morning and took her for a stroll for the first time in 2 months... Damn it felt good, driving is definitely underrated.

Put on new wheels/tires
Change oil (way past due)

yah, wat i do is take a blank sheet of paper and a stylus to get the basic outline. then i use my pen and scissors to trim the paper to size to make the template. :)

sometimes i cut too much and so use masking tape on the template and recut.

the b-pillar template took me only a few min to make using this technique.

I used pretty much the same technique. I'm thinking of doing my door handles next. Any other ideas?

Tanooki, Those CF B-Pillars look really good. What brand vinyl did you go with?

I think it's 3M - a friend of mine has a bunch of it so I just got it from him.

Thanks bro! I appreciate it! Your B-pilllars look awesome!!! Did you use DiNoc? I think my 1080 is a little more glossy. I will use that on my PW Z. Anyone have a pic of the b-pillars in CF on a white Z???

Yeah swirls are a big no-no ;) To properly deswirl, you'll need to polish. To polish, you will need a buffer (DA or rotary...I use DA's, as they are safer...my Flex is a DA, but with power of a rotary), pads, and polishes. After that, you can glaze it if you like, then seal, then wax.

Proper washing and QD'ing techniques are a MUST to maintain a swirl-free finish. It's all in the technique. It's too lengthy to go over here, but let's just say I take 2 hours to wash using several buckets, mitts, a foam gun, a leaf blower and lots of QD :P

ONR is short for Optimum No Rinse... look it up. It's revolutionary (if used properly). I use ONR only when I have heavy dust. If it got rained on, it must be a 2 or 3 bucket wash for sure.

RE b-pillars, thanks man! And thanks for the detailing tips - I know it's a long subject and I've had several conversations about it. I spoke to a guy today who runs a car polishing/detailing company and he quoted me $65 an hour, and said it'd take about five hours. I don't have $320+ dollars to spend on that right now, so I guess I'll have to be watching YouTube videos and buying the stuff I need to do it myself. :ugh2::icon14:
