Just passed through. Took a detour from Charlotte to Knoxville. Highway 28 was almost as much fun as the dragon.

Yeah, I loved 28. You headed to knoxville then?

Tanooki, Those CF B-Pillars look really good. What brand vinyl did you go with?

Dude your paint looks SO good. It's something that bothers me about my Z every time I pull it out the garage - under the sun all you can see is a mess of swirls. I bought it at 5000 miles and it was already like that. I do my best to take care of it but the swirls drive me crazy. So do you always wash ONR? Which product? I really need to fix my sh!t.

Thanks bro! I appreciate it! Your B-pilllars look awesome!!! Did you use DiNoc? I think my 1080 is a little more glossy. I will use that on my PW Z. Anyone have a pic of the b-pillars in CF on a white Z???

Yeah swirls are a big no-no ;) To properly deswirl, you'll need to polish. To polish, you will need a buffer (DA or rotary...I use DA's, as they are safer...my Flex is a DA, but with power of a rotary), pads, and polishes. After that, you can glaze it if you like, then seal, then wax.

Proper washing and QD'ing techniques are a MUST to maintain a swirl-free finish. It's all in the technique. It's too lengthy to go over here, but let's just say I take 2 hours to wash using several buckets, mitts, a foam gun, a leaf blower and lots of QD :P

ONR is short for Optimum No Rinse... look it up. It's revolutionary (if used properly). I use ONR only when I have heavy dust. If it got rained on, it must be a 2 or 3 bucket wash for sure.

I stayed there last night. Back home in Indy now...getting ready to head to Michigan for the holiday weekend. Leaving the z home for this trip though.

I used Mobil 1 for two oil changes and I do not think I want to use it anymore. After about 2,000 miles, my engine was a bit noisy when idling. I never have the issue with Red Line and am going back to it (or maybe Eneos).

Have a safe 4th, Mr. Kenchan. Don't blow off any of your fingers with the fireworks -- it would hamper your shifting ablity.

happytheman 07-01-2011 04:57 PM

Yes it would hinder his motoring, wouldn't it? I wonder..is Kenchan a palm shifter or a shaft shifter? If it's the former..he might do ok! :icon17:

liking it better.

not sure about the noise you're talking about with the mobil 1
is it kind of like a clattering noise? if so i havent noticed it on the eneos
and the eneos helps me get up to 180 easier which is good since i have an oil cooler

ps...i used mobil 1 for 2 oil changes prior to switching

Really? Hummmmm...I've been using this stuff on my Z and G and past cars for like a decade. No issue with noise. Have a nice 4th too, mr.onzedge! yes, I will ensure to hold the fireworks in my mouth while motoring. :D. ;)
