What did I do with my Z today? Drove it today for sure.... and will be getting an estimate on getting my headlights clearbra'd, door handles, maybe A pillars, then maybe wrapping the rear valence... we'll see.

As for the weekend, went to several car shows, I didn't enter mine... just parked far away and walked over to look at other cars. Don't need to sit at car shows in a lawn chair and watch people go by. That's retarded. Some people just need attention.

But anyways, I got together with a smaller group that night, a bunch of Subie buddies, and had a mini meet :) More pics here:

But here's a couple shots, my fave's of the shots I took.

That sucks dude, that sounded like the exact same cop that pulled me over in Mira Mesa. Except he went out of his way to come get me. Your conversation was almost identical to mine :rofl2:

I agree with the powdercoating, but replace the wheel? If the dings are on the inside, cannot be seen and don't screw with the integrity of the wheel I'd leave it be.

You mentioned the rotor was damaged. I'd be more concerned about that than anything else to be honest. What kind of damage??

Dzel 06-13-2011 10:28 AM

Well if the ins. covers it I would do it. I would always look at it as I passed by and think about it just cause I know its there

You both have good points, and I would have to side with Dzel on this. Judging from the posts I've seen from "Chops", he's probably like me, like most of us, like ALL of us. Meaning....... our cars HAVE TO BE PERFECT. Even if the blemishes are purely aesthetic and does not affect function or performance, it would bother me to no end, day in and day out, until I did something to fix the problem.

Just my .02.

well the wheel definitely has ALOT of scratches, even the part where the wheel meets the hub got tore up. the rotor damage is purely cosmetic as well. the black part of the rotor where it sits on the wheel studs got chewed up. i really dont know how a rock caused this much damage :shakes head:

going to give my ins agent a call after my meeting and let you guys know how it goes. i wouldnt be opposed to having all the calipers powder coated yellow + a new wheel. :)

Sorry to hear that bro. Not sure how strict all of Cali is, but if all cops there are like that, might be worth removing tint. Isn't the ticket for that much more expensive than no front plate? I'll never run plates.... if I get pulled over twice a year or even 3 for no front plate, I'll live with that. No holes no plate FTW.

im not sure what the fine is if i dont do it(doing that research as we speak), but apparently the court im supposed to be going to the judge HATES fix it tickets and throws them out. this was probably the first time i've driven with my windows up since i have owned the car thats what got his attention apparently.

I agree on the no plate thing, but my car will be "Amused" soon enough and then im going to be more of a target so im trying to find a solution until I move out of this damn state and head to a state that doesn't care...

The officer literally starred at my front end for about 5 min, I knew what he was looking for, I knew he wasn't going to find it because it is hung on my wall in my garage!

All in all, ill probably buy some spare glass, and then ill zip-tie the plate to get everything signed off. That way I can swap the glass back and forth if need be. Also going to ditch my custom plates, so i dont mess my front one up. I have a collection growing...

if you dont mind me asking, what is this ticket going to cost you?

i'm in the same boat as you and i always wonder what it'll cost me when i do get pulled over.

Took my Z on a 4 hour drive through the VA and WV mountains from Leesburg VA out 7 down 81 and across 64 to Charleston WV. Great ride - great views - little traffic.

Installed my G3 intakes, now I got the mod bug. All I keep doing is looking for wheels and exhaust to buy. Instead of doing work like I should be hahaha
